Looks like a nice period one.
In my opinion the mos common ring in the row of
"Gegen Engelland" rings.
In mint condition this pattern still has a kind of black paint
in the deeper sections of shoulders and plate.
One question here: how many versions of this ring exists ?
#1 With text on the ring written in lower case letters like that" Wir fahren gegen Engelland" - this is 100% correct.
#2 Presented here with text written in capital letters like that "WIR FAHREN GEGEN ENGELLAND".
Are both versions legit ?
I did some research on this before I purchased it. The first style has differences in the font, noticeable on the "f" in Fahren, the airplane style is different(rounded nose, no wheels beneath), and the ship's rear cannon is pointed upwards. Also there are slightly more waves visible. The second style is shown here. Fortunately, I found an old original ad copy that Odal had posted in an old thread, and the style is exact to what this ring shows.
Is the mark stamped in or standing out positive ?
The inner markings are raised on this ring. I would presume that is proper on both versions.
There were a few versions of this pattern...
Marc,,well certainly one of the rarest yes!..
But lets not forget this pattern!
This is also a stunning pattern !!
The hardest to get i think is the cink example and the very simple made band ring.
And i know 3 to 4 patterns of this theme that are still harder to get and i hope to own them some day
That is an impressive display Odal!I would love to have those!
Nice collection Odal. The simple bands are really awesome, I agree!
yes many thanks to Odal as many of his rings will be in the book,,and deservedly so.
What an excellent collection of these type ring!! This takes money, time, dedication, patience, and the love of doing it.. Bravo, well done!
Nice looking one. Most of the plating still there.
