Evgeniy, it is the signature of Josef Bürkel, first "Saarbevollmächtigter der Reichsregierung" and from 1935 on "Reichskommissar fuer die Rueckgliederung des Saarlandes", so the bestowing person not the presentee.

I have a large write up on this ring in the book. They even came with a document!.
Reason? not entirely sure! could be for donating money to help the nazis regain the SAAR.

So, they came in a gold [plated] and silver version,,documents and all had the same maker and box.

Just got this one in an auction... Plus box; but not the award document (I want one!) anyone know more about it- how many produced, who was awarded this and why?

There is not much knowledge about this ring. Mass produced with silver and with gold plating and official awarded.
Yes, there are award docs for this ring, but allways without any name of owner.

A rare ring and hard to get, I bet much rarer than a honor ring.

mike you did it again you found a rare rare ring i might have seen one years ago im sorry i dont remember this ring but what i see is a great looking ring dated msrch 1st 1935 also very well marked on inside of ring nice for odel to educate us here about haveing a document with this ring mike you have to get this document you have the original box both box and ring is certainly rarer then the ss honor ring thats for sure great find mike congrats on a great job hurry up n find another rare third reich jem god bless all andy militarynut
