He was an SS officer who claimed to at one point in his life to have been an employee of the Gahr Silver/Goldsmith firm.. The same firm that made the SS Totenkopf Honor Ring!

There is doubt to some. They say that Peichl never worked at Firma Gahr. Don Boyle has had much correspondence with him over the years and insists that he did work there. Unrelated,, I know of a collector 10 years ago or so [?] that ordered a postwar copy HR from Peichl. In a return letter Peichl stated something to the effect that he briefly worked at Gahrs..
This is of interest to us because [as already written] after the war Herr Peichl started making copies of 3rd reich jewelry to include the Honor Ring..
Peichls postwar work was done with castings. Some castings maybe using a authentic model to make the mold.

Clearing off some photos off my hard drive I came across these photos. I would give credit to owner but I do not know who it is , so my apologies..

1st,,the ring that started the collecting craze in all ring collectors.!..

The HR copies varied in quality over the years as some were better than others..
Many think he just made the HR. He didn't, he made much more. Here are some of his pieces. Some fantasy, some copies of authentic patterns.

Enjoy,,,and please,,if any member has a Peichl HR or another item from him please post here!,,thanks...

Interesting thread, I guess someone will take the chance for adding fuel to the fire of an old polemic....

Btw, I'm looking for a nicely made SSHr copy by Herr Peichl (better if boxed), if someone.....I'm here.

I had six high quality reproduction SS Honor Rings for sale at the MAX and sold three as such. I will have the remaining three repros for sale at the SOS.

I will also have two excellent plus originals for sale. One the early date of 1934 and the other dated 1939.

Both are ex. and average wear and absolutely guaranteed originals.

Not the mint or artificially aged 'reproductions'

See all there.

G:
I purchased a Peichl on an online auction site about 3 years ago for $300. It came with a Don Boyle CoA stating what it was. Ialso verified it with Don personally.
Photos are attached...

John,,,always enjoy seeing your display at the SOS,,see you there...

Derek,,good to see you! Hope all well.. You got lucky with that ring. Some are really ugly and are just bad copies..
Yours is a beauty! His rings seem to have and hold some good value.

Thanks G.,....I already knew the site and I did buy a SSHr '30 copy a while ago : not the quality I expected by the ad pics.

Peichl's copy offered is a copy of a copy so hard to believe nice details are still there.
