Most of these rings we see we tend call WW 1 rings.
True, many were bought and sold during the 1st WW. But many were made after the war and well into the 1930's as remembrance rings/Patriotic rings..
Please feel free to add your WW 1, Inter-war, Freikorp era, and WW 2 era Patriotic rings...
This is a silver ring, no content stamp.. Has 3 stripes of enamel with the German colors. Also a black enamel Swastika.. This ring I'd say would date to be an early 1930s piece..
Here's a period advert for a really nice looking Pat. ring..
I believe a member actually owns this and maybe could post here with the ad..
Benten and G.: Real nice rings you have there! I would be proud on eatch of them!
G.: Thanks for this new topic!
Period patriotic rings are one of my favorites in collecting and i have one or three of them
Here some pic from mine:
Odal that are really nice items. I don't have a ring of this type....till yet
"Sieg oder Tod" slogan........
Nice one, B.!
Here an other from my collection wwII
Sorry for the small pic
and my only wwI ring
Both rings are lovely.
My favourite is the simple and stylish swastika ring.
Very nice guys! ,some super examples shown here..
Another advert. from my files,,enjoy:
Cool G.!
This adverts are the naterial we collector can work on!
Here an other enamel ring - i think an nice one too - the pic isn`t so good
very fine ring selection guys,,,
, yeah real nice going guys!!
That red background ring is something special!
Any markings in the band?
silver?
Has joining/size seam in band?
Gaspare, thanks for your ad.
Odal, you always surprise me, good rings keep showing up. This type I've never seen.
Yes this is real a special ring.
Silver, deep red enamel, the austrian "Tunkan" and a makers mark.
And --- 2! --- seams.
Not one on the oposite of the plate, 2 behind the shoulders.
Here some better pics
and
Odal,thats an excellent ring!!
O.K., a few more bad photos of some of mine.. Some old swastikas.....
All for greater Germany!,,
,and a weird one,, a strip of zinc,,rolled into a inexpensive ring.. Has Gott mit Uns and 1918 date. With a tiny bit of white and black paint!
Wow!
Some stunning and great examples!
A lot of nice rings shown and some I've not seen before. Thanks for the show guys!
Thanks Mikee for your kind words!
It`s a pleasure for us to show our treasures!
And i am sure the show goes on
Ok, lets go on.
Two other examples of patriotic wwII rings with enamel.
Hard worn and some damages.
Sorry!
I told these days i have only one wwI patriotic ring.
I forgot this nice "little" Bismarck-lot, dated 1915, including 4 wellmade Bismarck-rings.
Charms, Fobs, rings,,, STUNNING! great lot you got there!
Kind words friends!
But i don`t want to play the "solo entertainer" here. I am sure there are other rings around, not only mine.
Untill you come out with some of your rings - still a nice patriotic womens ring with red glas stone.
2 othter patriotic rings - for women or children.
Both silver
and the last two of the Bismarck-lot.
Sorry the small pics!
o.k., I'll try and get a few more shots of mine..
Members,,Please check out Odals Bismark ring with date.. This date is hand cut with a jewelers hand graver.
This is exactly what you want to look for when inspecting hand engraved rings/jewelry. You can see were the start or plunge of the tool starts, the slight twist of the tool makes the wider spots for effect. This too applies to Honor Rings,,on authentic pieces you will see this similar type of work.. Very nice..
Beautiful Germania/Thor ring Odal.
Hi Dean, "old" friend! Nice to meet you here!
Yes, you are right. This ring is a very special one. At least 95 years old. Perfect made. In front the prussian eagle Thor and Germania and the rest of the band is complete covered with military scenes.
Inside also some nice inscriptions: iron cross and some famous Bismarck words.
Maybe i post some more pics of this ring here.
Specially for my friend Dean some more pics of a real special ring.
A ring for real patriots!
Enjoy
Thanks for the close ups Odal.
I remember seeing a photo or two of this prize when you first got the Bismark lot and I was drooling over it then, now your detailed pictures show it's even more incredible- on the inside and out.
Amazing how much art and battle scene could fit on one ring.
Odal, a lot of work went into that ring,,inside and out!..
Here's a couple more..
this has a field cannon on one side,, - rifle and sword on other..
800 silver, Swastika & Oaks!
Wow, the swastika ring is a real beauty! I wish i had one too.
Here a silver ring with marcasite stones
Here again a patriotic ladys ring with glasston.
I think this is a real lovely piece of artwork.
Enjoy
Enjoying the incredible ring displays Gaspare,Odal, and Benten.
On Gaspare's recent 1914-1918 post I think the nouveau styling included with the rifle sets it off nicely.
On Odal's recent glasston I like the way the oakleaves are flowing in the same direction as the swaz...like they are attempting to hold it in motion.
Great stuff.
Here an other ring we havn`t still here
Fantastic rings Odal
! Where do you find such nice rings?
Thanks Benten!
I am always hunting for new ones.
Here an other patriotic we still havn`t here
Fantastic, note all these swastika rings are scarce!!
again a patriotic womens ring in silver. But sadly someone has tried to remove the enamel swastika
Here some impressions of a new come-in.
All opinions are welcome.
Here is a German Patriotic ring of a different sort:
This ring I am told was a German/Italian "Unity" ring and was given out to Italian visitors of note to Germany. Note the fascist symbol superimposed over the swastika. The ring is die stamped in three parts,as virtually all rings were in Germany prior to the 1950s. It was then sized and silver soldered together.
The box is NOT original to the ring and did NOT come with the ring and I am just using it as a convienent display medium!
Therefore it has NO COA,EEC,POS and anything else certificate wise with it!
I think it came from some jewelry exchange.
Jim
Odal, your new Blue Glass Soldier is excellent! Early, pre war I'd say.. anyone else with a similar ring?
Jimbo, well the ring is 100% authentic for sure,,at least its not a rope box, no matter, boxes are way over rated these days anyway!
It's a nice one,,a womans version and they are hard to find!!
Yes, this German/Italy friendship-ring is a real beauty!
Wow, two last ring very beauty
never saw ring in blue glass (what period this ring: pre-war or war time ?)
fasci/swastika symbol ring i saw , but on other band
Sorry my late answer E.!
I had a long of thinking on this ring and now my opinion is it is made between 1934 and the late 30ies.
My reason therefore is the design of the band and the rifle the soldier holds (to see on the right side of the head). I think this gun is a Karabiner 98K.
But at all i am not real sure.
This is the only ring of this pattern i know. And it is the only glas-stone with this head i saw.
again a new ring in my collection - this one in the style of a party-pin
Very nice,,a good catch!
When you get a chance show that sizing strip in the band...,Thanks.,G.
of course. Here
Very smart jeweler. When you resize a ring with enamel in it you will have a problem. If you just cut and make smaller/bigger the enamel WILL crack.
These strips are for makeing a ring 'smaller' fit for someone and works great.
Nice ring.
ok heres a few patriotic rings sorry about my fingers in it.
first picture one of g's ads.
lucky horse shoe .i wonder
lovely 14 -15 ring two piece
side
Nice!! The Horseshoe EK ring is a first for me,,great piece....
All very nice rings. But i like the two-piece one most!
This is a real artwork!
Odal, very good ring. Nice old wear. Interesting to see how the band is made smaller inside. Looks like the band was milled out a bit before the extra inside band was placed. Perhaps the open place was already made by the factory.
I met a guy that had two smooth pins inside backside ..... Another way and easy way to make the ring smaller.
Ringman, these rings are beauties and I have never seen before Top!
Benten
Again a new come-in. I think brass (it smells so) silver plated and enamel
Nice Odal,,I have same posted but yours better photo!
Some ads I'm clearing from my files:
Cool adverts!
Thanks for showing us!
The ring - what period it is?
many of these rings with date 1918 on them were made way after. Usually right up to the 1930s... GD ring too...
Hm?
I don`t know why, but i always thaught these ring got popular with the idea to get austria into the german empire -beginning 30ies.
Ok, here two other patriotic rings i got these days.
The first one, i think its Alpacka, has no stamp and i got from a friendly meber here - wolf100.
Thanks here to Marc!
The second one comes from an auction is silver and has the "?35"-stamp (the first number isn`t readable).
Here two not so good pics.
Some fantastic rings being shown here, some I've never seen before.
Odal, I will have to look but I think I have the same WWI "for real patriots" ring as the one you have shown, maybe a variation on the inside insription. Thanks
Super Odal!! 2 real nice rings... ,hey come on Mikee,,get that ring on here!
Thanks G.!
I am real happy to this 2 new ones in my collection.
Mikee
Yes, this Bismarck-rings (Thor/Germania/different branches) are real nice ones with a lot work in it.
Not really rare, but if for selling mostly rather expensive.
I had a year ago or so email-contact to a other collector, mainly not rings, that has a weakness for that ring-pattern.
This time he had 3 of them. All in this main-pattern, but all with some little differences inside.
It would be nice to see your ring here.
G,Odal,
Thanks for asking. Sorry it took so long to get some old pictures up but was entertaining family and friends.
I think my WW1 Patriotic ring is just like yours. The Verlobungsring isn't very often seen at all anymore. Have you seen this type before? I have a real weakness for these myself. Thanks.
.
Verlobungsring3
4
Yes, Mikee, the outside of your patriotic Ring looks like mine.
And yes, i have seen the "Verlobungsring" before. It looks like made in the same kind as the patriotic one only with a different decors. On my opinion both are made in the same time.
The "Verlobungsring" is more rare than the patriotic. I have seen 2 or 3 over the years but never owned one.
Hey odal,
I agree, imo both were made during the same period and I also have only seen a few over the years and had the chance to purchase them and should have, but didn't for some reason. Imo they are some of the best period WW1 war rings and real works of art with each panel portraying a scene. Thank you.
Maybe interessting. Such a "Verlobungsring" in gold. In the moment in ebay, germany.
http://cgi.ebay.de/WW1-Soldaten-Ring-Ver...=item255f5dd755
These are out of my field of study,,but,,The seller is a master jewelry counterfeiter. He does occasionally/rarely sell a authentic ring.
I'd get more/ better photos before purchasing it!
Yes, Uli is a little "gangster".
He has some good rings - he buys a lot of old jewelry.
And for sure he makes his own ones.
In exact this ring i am not real sure. But i know he had a good one of this pattern in silver and also a good one of the Bismarck-pattern.
Time to continue here.
Saw this pattern some times in silver.
This one is brass with an heavy silver plating in still real good condition.
odal,
I like it, nice find. Any markings?
Thanks Mikee!
No, no markings - this ring is brass and only silver plated
Odal,, a simple but stunning piece!!
Thanks G.!
Here ahain a new come-in from today.
Silver 800 and enamel. The enamel has some damages, the red one is real glasy like the wwI enamel.
Enjoy!
An other come in from today.
Silver, 800, deep black enamel.
Here some impressions:
Yes that WestFront is mine,,been looking for that pattern for a long time!
Your new piece is super... There's a minimum of 5 pieces to make up that ring... Nice!
odal,
Nice find! That style of ring is very nice.
Thanks for the kind words, friends!
Again a ring for a lady.
More piece construction. Brass, copper? and enamel.
Nice ring Odal. Closer to the NSDAP emblem one will no get.
Like the NSDAP pins, this ring seems to be early.
Always nice to see!!
Danke A.!
In my opinion too a early perod ring.
Odal, here a sister of your ring, a little brooch.
Benten
Well, not a ring but,,,
Don't really know what they are.. Maybe German American Bund pieces? OR, just early weird Nazi German..
They are a either Perspex or Bakelite...
Anyone seen or have similar?
Wow - never seen somewhat similar out of this material.
From the pics it looks like out from 3 different pieces in the 3 colours, baken together like a cake and the swastika overed with paint
- you got it!,,,3 separate pieces,,painted Swas...
Bakelite was in use by the early 1920s...
All nations tried/played around with it for various reasons.
The pin set up kind of looks US , but in the early/mid 1920s trade was world wide so anyone could have been using it.. Maybe someone has similar and we'll get to see more...
Time for a "new" ring here. Silver, small size, well made seam, red and glasy enamel. Well stamped "800", austrian tukan and manufacturers mark "JB".
Enjoy!
(Opninions are welcome)
Hey odal,
You are always finding nice rings! Congratulations!
Much thanks Mikee!
You know: i am always searching with 3
eyes!
And Mikee - i found with my 3 eyes some weeks/months ago somewhat interesting for you.
The advert of your patriotic WWI-ring.
Enjoy:
odal,
Wow!! I've looked for this for a very long time. That is fantastic! I'm elated and what a great find and thanks a million for showing it to me!
No problem - its a pleasure for me.
WOW, a couple of real beauties Odal!
These Patriotic type patterns are getting extreamly hard to find nowdays!
Thanks G.!
I do my best to let the collection grow.
Here all my enamel partypin pattern rings side by side (all are still here) and in the moment i work on the next real nice one
excellent Odal! Super group!,,a collection we all strive to achieve!
Does the other red field rings hav the Austrian hallmarks too?
odal,
You have an amazing collection!
Thanks friends!
Markings:
On the second pic ring 1 and 2 have only "800". On the 3. ring you can´t see real the stamp - there is inside a second band for downsizing. Ring 4 and 5 have austrian marks (tukan) and the last has no marks - it is silvered brass/copper.
Wow G.! - You got it!
I think i understand your idea and i think you are 100 % right.
Black swas, white/silver round in red shield ist german (black/white/red).
White/silver swas on red field is austrian - colours of austria red/white
Here the next promised partypin pattern.
Exact same style as one of the ring above. Only here is a white enamel around the swas (black/white/red). Ring has a large size, some wearing, "800" mark on backsite plate, well made seam and a little damage in the red enamel.
But, what is this? Behind the enamel it looks like there is a seperate brass? plate.
Sombody here for explaining this to us?
Here some pics.
Enjoy!
Opinions are welcome!
I could be wrong odal... One of two things to me..
Part of the enamelling process?, or possibly to add a crystal reflection as such to the finished piece?..
Much "thanks" svenga for first opinion!
And lets wait for some more
- so much to see and always learn. Don't think I've ever seen that!
If you used a pin is it hard? or foil like and packed in? [careful not to damage].
I think your other similar ring might have the same.....
I think Svenga got it!
Good eyes G.!
Yes the other ring has a little enameldamage at the red one too.
And behind this enamel again is a kind of brass.
In all hard to say, but yes, i think too it is a kind of thinn sheet or foil. On both rings this, i call it now so, foil has symetrical structures.
In my opinion real to reflekt and brake incoming light through the very glasy enamel.
And, if i remeber right, brass is one of the best materials to hold enamel.
Thanks Svenga! Thanks G.!
Here some closer pics:
Just to say there's really much to learn reading advanced collectors by GDC-HRF.......thanks
Ric
This is real hot glass enamel, right?
If so than answer is a tricky nature of this kind red color enamel. It will not lay on this low silver content base. With this enamel is pretty hard to work. To "fool" this enamel you can use pure silver 999, which is unacceptable in this case because of its softness. You can make richer silver surface. Or you can go this way with brass liner. There are few more possibilities like to make colorless enamel undercoat etc. Had a lot of "fun" with this enamel in restoration before.
Thanks Hapur for sharing your knowlede here with us!
Yes, for sure glas enamel.
How are these brass liners usually afixed?
Soldered or crimped in? Its not to see on this two rings i have here.
Hi, how it was usually done I do not know. Because today is available that colorless enamel with higher melting point. So today this technology with brass is pretty useless and pain in ******** anyway.
Haha!
To bad - mybe sometime later we can learn how this is done.
Thanks for your input!
Yeah, that is interesting for me too - why? Why they did go this way, because like I said there are few easier and better quality options. Anyway I will try to do this sometimes in long winter evenings.
For little movement here my first nice ring in 2013.
Again in the style of a party pin.
Ring is brass and silver plated. The red and black are enamel.
Here two not so good pics.
Opinions always welcome.
Nice ring Odal; these are rare rings, but you know to find them!!
Because of the style I think it is an early ring.
Is the grey between the leaves grey-blackening or silver patina?
Benten
Thanks Benten!
I am always looking with 3 eyes
I agree, i think also its early pre 33 ring.
The grey you see s silver patina.
An other little girls ring for my little collection.
Silver "800", enamel, diameter about 17 mm. Enjoy!
Nice,,,on the smaller size, but they usually are.. Static Swas. , bet that's a real early ring!
Thanks, G.!
I think you are right.
After a lot researching and reading i am sure that most of this rings/items are pre may 33.
Nice rings odal!
Since these are early 1933 made rings, wouldn't they be considered to be mass produced 1933 souvenir Kitsch rings?
Nice rings odal!
Since these are early 1933 made rings, wouldn't they be considered to be mass produced 1933 souvenir Kitsch rings?
I am not real sure that i understand your question with my english correct
But, yes, i think after may 33 most of this rings were such items therefoere the "Kitsch"-law (Gesetz zum Schutze der nationalen Symbole ....)was made.
Par example - remember how much of the real much Westwall rings show as swastika - only a hand full.
For using this symbols on a in Germany (1938 Austria too) you needed after may 33 a offical permission.
So there was only a realativly short time this items are produced and thats in my opinion the reason that they are rather rare.
"mass produced 1933 souvenir Kitsch rings"
Absolutely! and that's what we love to collect.. Anything that wasn't bring in money to the party was called 'Kitsch'!
A private purchase ring / and or a 'Canteen' ring...all are :
Mass produced rings for retail... Some guys like to collect custom one of a kind rings,,thats fine. But they are hard to authenticate and even date. Most of us here on thisforum collect mass produced made for retail sales rings!
odal, G,
Oh yes, I absolutely agree. Even while the Nazis were seizing power at the end of January 1933, a frenzy of all types of things imaginable was being mass produced by businesses big and small to make money. It was big business up until May 1933. The law and directives of 19 May 1933 put a big damper on it. But as we know they couldn't and didn't confiscate all of it. I remember an article which stated that a business had been warned not to sell Kitsch items anymore, and that the items weren't confiscated.
Odal and I have been looking into this exact thing,,,the laws concerning this stuff!
Seems like they were deadly serious right around 1933,,,but for some odd reason there wasn't any enforcement.. Probably because it would have been almost impossible to enforce.
I think by the time the war started they basically just gave up and let be.... BUT, there might have been years before / or shortly after 1933 that there was a under the table understanding that jewelers and retails might have 'donated' some cash to the party for the no enforcement of the laws. [?]
We've found some laws,,but as I mentioned,,there wasn't enforcement.........
Kitsch is far more than what we collect so that's really not entirely true, it was enforced to an extent but you have to look at the bigger picture of what was going on as early as 1928 with the League for German Culture and then with the renamed National Socialist Culture Community in 1934, which is the time frame we are interested in. And they in turn were aligned with the official body for cultural surveillance, or the Dienstelle Rosenberg. Have you heard the phrase "when I hear the word culture, I reach for my gun"? This isn't the actual phrase used in the play, but the one most used by Nazi leaders.
I agree. In 1933 the laws and directives were new and from what I've learned enforcement was taken serious by propaganda officers and police, but maybe because it was new more warnings were given. It seems that the Brown House judges in Munich, had decided on fresh decisions and passed more then a few items as unobjectionable because of the quality. But there was still a very long list of items that didn't pass judgment. I believe they did attempt to stop it, but how in the world could they totally. They couldn't and I believe they must've understood this fact.
Maybe this Kitsch served another purpose for them, because it did continue and articles of the day questioned why it was allowed to continue. Illegal activity flourishes as long as a product sells and we can't rule out the possibility that the propaganda ministers pockets were lined. But then again he was a hard core true believer in his party and AH, so did he truly mean what he stated in his speech?
In a speech he stated; "That for the advancement and maintenance of a program, an art was necessary which would encompass not simply symbols and events but a basic structure of ideas. So artistic value was not to be determined by cheap, anecdotal directness". Why it was allowed to continue is another mystery.
To bad. My english isn´t good enaugh for deep discussions about this theme.
After reading and researching a lot in my opnion the gouvernment in this time dit everything to stop these so called "Kitsch"-items. I am sure they forced through their law. There are examples enaugh for such manner.
In the case of this "Kitsch"-law they even gone a step further.
This law too became valid for pics, busts and other artworks that showed Hitler.
About this theme i found last weeks a very interesting and well researched book that uses and shows a lot of documented sources.
odal,
Your doing just fine. Kitsch is so much broader than must realize. Agreed, these were the directives. It also covered leading personalities, art, singing and songs, literature, etc. Police regulations can also take effect and enforced. I'm sure I have that book and probably more. Thanks.
"It also covered leading personalities, art, singing and songs, literature, etc"I agree with that.. and reiterate, [just my theory],,that if it's not bringing in money to the party its Kitsch!
So we have the law, and the impossibility of enforcing it.. Maybe the Propaganda Minister thought that in writing the law itself that it would deter the retailers from stocking and maybe even the customers from wanting them..
Ha, ha,,who wouldn't want something like these for you and your girl!
here is some more good old 'Kitsch'... This time for the fashionable lady to wear..
Hi!
Here some "new" patriotika from the Kassel Militaria Show.
Enjoy!
My God Odal!,,,what a wonderful score that is!!
Congrats!!!Maybe when you have the time you can feature each ring [hallmarks, sides anything of interest etc.]...
Thanks friends!
And here we go!
The necklace:
the bakealite piece is super! They all look like early pieces,,did they come from the same vendor?
Yes, they all come from the same source. It seems a old dealers stock.
Time to show a new pattern here
-
Odal, that's a nice one. Looks like a wartime hallmark in it too. I have seen a period advert for it..
Here are a couple I picked up at the MAX.
Left one a little plain, red and black enamel, content marked. The other Red White and Black enamel, nice band, content marked..
Thanks G.!
Seeing advert would be fine!
Cool ones you got at the MAX.
Better shots possible - espezially of the HJ?
here's the 2 I picked up at the MAX...
Much thanks for closeups!
Real beauties!
I would prefer the one on the left side
Nice looking one!
Is a view of backside and hallmarks possible?
after a long time a new one for my collection.
Silver 935, multipiece and marcasite stones
no one a opinion ???
Odal did you say 935 silver?
Odal did you say 935 silver?
Yes
Ok, if no one else has an opinion...Odal, thanks for the nice ring pics...so I see the evidence of the swas/ circle construction and at the very least this adds more handcrafting to the value of the ring IMO in piece construction...here's what I like or rather stands out to me...the marcasite stones are pretty cool...i don't know much abt the stone, so my curiosity is piqued because I wonder if that's the gems natural crystalline form? That IMO would be really cool Odal. Nice ring anyway
Mike
Thanks Mike!
Yes, i think so too. The gems have their natural form
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markasit
sure 935 is fine for 3rd reich era. This pattern of course for the woman. I'd say period and think I've seen it in adverts before.. Nice ring..
these 2 from a period catalog..
A little different than Odals but the same,,I have a advert for Odals somewhere.
Doing some BIG file cleaning this weekend If I find it I'll post,,for now these:
Thanks G.!
A perfect Fitting advert would be fine!
After a long time again an other patriotic pattern.
Ring has very small size, is brass or nickelsilver, plated.
Nice ring! Interesting design, too!
hi odel
sorry to coment had some extra work around the ranch here those marcisite rings you show are great looking 1930s 935silber marked style ladies rings . there was many different styles in early 1930s especially the political ones when adolf was sturing the pot especially at his many people rallys im sure some vender was selling these marcisite rings to the ladies at these big rallys ps odel if you keep buying these third reick rings your running out of room now only place left is with the dogs gott mitt uns to you meine friend andy militarynut

yes, probably for a woman or HJ/BDM... Nice one!!
Been waiting a few weeks on this one.. Was about to give up hope when it arrived today..
These are always nice to find,,,especially in nice condition like this one..
Thin band, polished inner, stamped 835 in band,,probably mid 30s.
It's got some old polish built up in the lines, nooks and crannies. I'll do a light brushing, then warm water mild soap wash,,and in the case!
Too a quick look in my files.. Found an advert that is pretty close to mine..
Congrats friend!
A real nice one and a pattern i still miss too.
Yep that's a really nice ring g
Congrats Gaspare! Any chance to see inside?
Hap.,, Already in case!. I no longer can keep anything here at my house.. Will get inner shots up next weekend..
A new one for my collection. Ladies ring, brass with rests of silver plating. 3 piece construction.
Plate Diameter about 8 mm

Old thread
New ring in my little collection of patriotic ones.
Some will know it. Comes from an other forum and was a
"must have" for me.
I knew it was going to be either you or Gaspare that went after that ring! Congrats odal that is a gorgeous piece!
Very special, very cool...
Thanks friends
Again a swastika ring.
Silver "935", 2 piece, swas soldered on with blue enamel and i bet
swas was made from an copper alloy.
Really neat piece.... is it German or Finnish or something...?
I personal think a "mix".
German made (the hallmarking) for Finnland (the colour of enamel).
I baught it from a finnish auction.
Yes I can see that, for sure... could be lotta svärd, ladies ring.
GREAT piece, man! Very nice ring.
Agree. Very similar to a still shown one in this thread.
Congrats!

Only to feed this nice thread....
a, i think so, nice and completely hand made ring from silver wire with 1 mm diamter.
The swastika had times ago a gilding:
Here's a nice one, stamp of 800 and a maker, can't make it out- and a tucan head on the outside by the join seam
Stamp
Pics are real no good but i think it is a nice one.

Hello Gentlemen,
wanted to share my newest ring. I don't collect patriotic rings and I was buying it for trade, but when I got it in hand I decided to leave it in my collection. Never seen this type earlier. Enjoy
Very nice ring, Edward- congrats!
Thanks Mike!
yes,,,,ALL authentic 3rd reich rings are getting extremely hard to find.. Something like that is a keeper.. IF its really not your area of collecting you have some excellent trade material. but as it is a great addition to your collection...
Another one of patriotic ring.
Lovely ring, never seen one like that
I was a long time not on the forum. Here I am with the latest purchase
This ring is molded.
Stamped 925 and has a seam .
The band behind is thin.
What is your opinion about this ring ?
2 more pics....
The ring has got a hard clean inside .
The Arrow shows the spot of the seam.
Hi benten
Interesting ring, have not seen that shape before- and I have also yet to meet you! But I read a lot of your posts, you are a very knowledgeable collector imho! I am also interested to hear the opinions on this piece
Best to you, and nice to meet you-
Mike

That is a very nice ring. Is it a two-part ring? The swastika piece looks like it might have been soldered to the ring. Never seen this design before... but sometimes that is a good sign...
Cheers,
Stephen
hi benten
very happy to see you again here on gdc ring forum very sad we lost our right arm a little while back yes odel a great guy to every one especially here on gdc he was a very big third reich ring collector it will be hard to fill his shoes god bless him he is in a better place i would like to weigh in on this neat well porportioned solver swazsticka ring i have the same style ring i bought it years ago from vets bring back from the family he told his family it was taken off a dead h j and the sideway swaz does resemble the same design in a h j knife so i call mine a h j silver ring this in my opinion you never see this design so also scarce might never see another one stay well meine friend benten god bless andy militarynut
Hello Mike:
Thank you for the complements,Mike, I 'm just interested..
Nice to meet you here !
Benten
Hello Stephen :
Is the ring two piece ? You have a good question !
Even with the magnifying glass I'm not convinced if the plate with the swastika is soldered to the ring , I tend to say it's all one piece molding.
Benten
Hello Andy:
I'm glad to see you here and hear you have also this type of ring .:) Thank you for your info,,, indeed the swastika has a square shape , just like the HJ . Andy., If possible, could you post yours?
About Odal........yes he was a good friend of us .....On and off, we mailed for several years........I'll never forget him.. He died far too young.
Greetings Benten!! , SO glad to see you..
,, Yes. Odal ,,,irreplaceable as a friend and colleague. We ALL miss him here terribly...Still very sad :(, and guess we'll be mourning him for quite a while..
The ring! Yes Andy has a beautiful example, exactly the same! Why do you think a mold and not from a press? Andys also right , that this IS a very rare ring! Maybe he can post photos of his!..
Hello Gaspare !
First of all Greetings to you too, Gaspare ..I'm glad to see you !!
About the HJ- ring.
The silver solder-lines under the plate are silversolder . I abusivily thought to see a molding structure , instead of silver- solder.
The plate of this ring is soldered .
The styl of the ring is Art Deco .
Why do you think a mold and not from a press?
I have no idea about pattern itself but ring on pic definately has not come from press. Look at last pic of ring inside - those are 100 percent casting flaws.

Hapur , I agree .
the more I see the more this is a strange piece.. 925 was in Germany pre war and after....
The front piece I agree, separate, more than likely pressed and soldered on..
Maybe,,maybe the band is a weird multi piece.. I do own a bunch of these engravers/jewelers guild booklets,,,some strange stuff was done.. IF the front thicker part is hollow and even though faulted,,it could be a 3rd reich piece.... Well worth holding on to..
Benten my old friend,,when you get tired of it send it here buddy!
Hi Gaspare good to see you here again ! ....,,,I think it will take some time before I'll get tired of it
Here a simple swastika ring .......
This is a silver ring .
The band diameter is 20 mm and the swastika is 15 mm from point to point.
On the band rim I discovered a half 800 stamp mark. I think it?s put that way to do the ring less harm .
The little stamp ?..It took me about 12 blurry pics before I got one good sharp shot?.
here some more pics......
hi benten
so happy to see you post again glad your doing good nice patriotic ring plus stamped 800 silver content mark great ring great guy stay well meine friend god bless andy militarynut

Here a close-up of the front..........
yes, very nice!.. I agree a early piece,,33 / 35 probably before... Thats a good catch you got there!
Mikee, Gaspare, thank you for your reply !
For different opinions about this ring......
Please see warrelicsforum/ArtDecor-Exotica of the third reich / subforum: rings

Benten..
Only God and the manufactures know what was alloyed in with that silver.. So the toning might not be what you will see with different contents and time periods..
Besides,,there is a pretty deep scratch lower on swastika,,,you can clearly see it is silver..
Its a wonderful nice early 3rd reich patriotic style ring. Would not mind having it in my collection.......
Gaspare, thank you very much for the compliment !
a ring on a poster.....l.
Hi folks,
This is a great thread. Some amazing rings here.
Here are patriotic rings from my collection. The one on the left is tiny, probably made for a woman or a child. It barely fits over the first knuckle of my pinky. There is no silver mark but it looks like silver. Odal posted an identical ring on p.3 of this thread. The German-Italian Unity ring is a big brute.
Please let me know if you'd like more detailed photos of any of these.
Cheers,
Stephen
all very nice guys!
Stephen,,,the big Swas 2nd from left.. anything interesting on side band? hallmarks in band?

Hi Gaspare,
Here you go. 935 Silver content mark. I like this ring. It was well-worn back in the day but still in decent condition, apart from that missing chunk of black lacquer.
Best wishes,
Stephen
yeah,,,thats very nice!..
935,,,band design,,,very early,,,maybe 1920s......
Your birds eye view shot shows how they should be,, proper. nice thin, tapered bands,,very nice... Thanks for showing..
Stephen, good to see your swastica rings....
The last posted one here above is a nice and certainly rare ring with these floral motives aside. Thanks for showing .
Another example of old kitsch pendant
I have this advert for something not exactly the same but similar...
-
* yours is fine.. Great early patriotic piece! ,, Any markings on the back?
This stuff getting real hard to find,,,Good catch !
Yes, it have
It’s silver?
Caught it for 35$, it’s good price or?
$35.!! :o,,,, I would buy them all day long for that.... Nice addition to your collection.... [Women stuff hard to get!]
I believe some of the nicer quality made items shown on this thread were approved to make and sale. So would not really be considered Kitsch. Best!
benten,
I was sure that I had seen something "very similar in shape" before. Not exact but close enough. They were making this style of women rings around 1912 and possibly earlier. Not that far off from the art deco period and possibly continuing into the 30's and 40's. I'm not positive about that, meaning I have no proof and would have to look through my stuff lol. They used precious gem stones rubies on the face as the center piece. So yours is possibly a very well done modification during the period? I just think it's premature to call these HJ rings without further study IMO.
