I bought my first gravity knife off of an online auction last night. While I did a good deal of research before I hit the "buy now" button, I'd like to get some feedback on it from the more experienced collectors.

I haven't recieved it yet, but from the pics it seems to be complete, but definately shows use/abuse. From what I can see, the positives include: Take-down model, non-marked blade, and RBNr numbered spike. Late war production? Negatives are the scale/grip condition and lack of original finish remaining. I can't tell if the blade has been sharpened, but that really doesn't matter to me.

I paid $250 for it. Too much or about right? I know there is a guy in Texas who restores these; I am considering having the chewed-up grip scale replaced, but I haven't decided for sure.

Let me know how I did my first time around!

Thanks!
John
