Many of these pieces are numbered on hilt and scabbard throat to avoid mix ups when servicing, but how many are numbered on the scabbard fittings as well??

Hello Paul, for me the first one with marked fittings. I have seen a lot of early "full stag"hewers which mainly have been marked (beside he assumable officer hewers which I believe have been unmarked), with identical numbers on grip and scabbard throat or also mixed numbers but never on the scabbard fittings. Interesting find!

Paul,

I’ve come to expect that if something is in your collection that it has to be very nice and this one is no exception. First time I’ve seen a numbered fitting like that. I do know the CJ Krebs hewers wiki sometimes have the month and year of production but that’s on the blade. Very cool find!
