I know maybe 10 years ago or more someone on here was working on or trying to work on a TENO dagger book. They were looking for early examples specific numbered pieces etc... Does anyone know if that research ever went anywhere or???? I'm curious as to late numbers and the highest numbers observed? I've gotten into the lower 10,000 range. Just wondering if the people or person ever did more research on it. Bret Van Sant

Hi Bret,

I know on WAF there was a guy named Dave, a doctor from out in western US who was a big TeNo guy. I believe it was him who looking for TeNo info. He hasn’t posted on WAF since mid-2021 so I don’t know if he’s still collecting anymore.

Bret, I remembered that the guy in question was a big TeNo collector and contributed a lot of item pics to John Angolia and Hugh Page Taylor for their German Police Volume 2. Listed in that book he's identified as David B. Landers, MD. His WAF handle is dblmed, you should be able to search for his posts and maybe reach out to him. I hope he's ok since he hasn't posted in a while.

I've collected a lot of info on TeNos and know of a couple of other guys who do the same. Hit me up via private message and I can help if you like.

Billy, hey man thanks! I can't pm you. Says I do not have access to user profiles. My account was corrupted at one point in one of the switch overs. So had had to redo it with Verns help. I'm always the special case. It's the all metal and hybrid parts in my body I guess😊 here is my old school hook up. If ya wanna shoot me anything. engard1@yahoo.com maybe Vern has a fix for the pm issue but I can't do it. Thanks for the boost👍🤙✌️🤘 Bret

Digging through old posts and see some names of members long gone, Patrice,Loggy,Paul Horton brings back a smile. My motivation in the early days of the forum were way different than now! The posts only go back to 2006 ish. I know lots was lost. Anyway some good info from Ron here. On early TENO leaders. Man always learning. Bret

This is from Barry Brown his post from above. As I'm looking at high numbers right now I can add the EM Hewer #10352 (mine) as the highest to Barry's list. No I'm not doing a list just seeing what's the highest number that I'm able to find for now.

Barry's post copied here.
I did a survey of the Eickhorn Teno series dagger blade markings a few years back. Survey was based on a total 94 EM hewers and Officer dirks observed in the old "Wittmann Offering" printed lists.

Officer dirks:-
stamped#, in the range 0346 - 1853. Exception, 3140

etched#, in the range 2353 - 3754. Exception, 8269

EM hewers:-
stamped#, in the range 0241 - 1417

etched#, in the range 2390 - 10256

I dont know if this survey answers anything and accuracy is dependant upon accuracy of the catalogue descriptions and my extraction of data therefrom. But, with a rare dagger like the Tenos' I think 94 surveyed is statistically significant.

That’s Darren’s website. He’s a WAF member but not sure if he is here also.
