I really would like to get a Hewer but not my expertise. Will be looking at one tomorrow. How much should I pay for a decent one. quick red flags to look for. Thanks guys.
Mikee
Try and stay away from sharpened or beat hewers! Like it lived banging in a tool box for 65 yrs!
You see them shown on the pages! Look at what good ones look like!
Condition is everything in price! Paint? Original? If paint is new looking! Smell the scabbard! Paint thats new has smell!
Price for nice 800.00 up~ Getting a beat up one is up to you!
Many dealers are 1200 up! Condition is everything!
What are you looking for? How much do you want to spend!
You can always put a wanted ad in GD wanted area!
Good luck!

PVON,
Thank you for great advice. The one I saw was a Rad leader. Eickhorn. Condition wasn't mint like the one you showed. No cracks, looked like normal wear all over including the blade with normal scratches. The coloring on the scabbard was pretty much worn off. Wasn't a beat up one. Asking price was $2200.00 firm. I didn't take pictures but should have.
Hi
I was talking about the rad hewer! Now as far as Rad Leader! I would pass!
Price and condition! Nope!
PVON
I was told it was a Hewer but when I saw it I knew it was a leader. I agree the price was way to high! What would a ballpark figure for a leader in that condition be?
Received pictures What do you think I should offer. Thank you.

Mikee that is a decent RAD leaders in collectible condition by a desirable maker. I would place value at $1800 to $2400 nice grips, blade and plating/finish A good piece and $2200 is a fair price IMO cheers and best, Ryan
Oh wow! Thank you Ryan. Always appreciate your help!
I would want better pics of blade! Making sure blade was not helped! Has signs it was cleaned with fine steel wool?
Those lines you see give me pause!
Just a thought!
Check other sites and look at blades!
