Hi all.
Dear collectors,I want to ask You to share photographs of officers of the red cross.Namely, such which with a knot as in the example below.The crux of the matter is that it is believed that the knots for the service was not.And supposedly the officers they were hanged illegally so to speak.
About the silver with red accents it is not-as far as I know it is a postwar copy.
It would be good to hear your thoughts about this.

I do collect edged weapons of the IIIR. Additionally I do collect "wearing..." photographs and do own about 1700 of them. Photographs wherein you can see a RK leaders dagger clearly and detailed are very rare. So it is very unsecure to do statements just founded on them. The photographs I do own do show them with and without portepee. Concerning the portepee itself I could only observe plain silver colored portepees. It is worth to mention that in my (at least equally rare if not even more rare) Postschutz-leader photographs you can CLEARLY see the flecked portepee (btw there have been two variants) to be worn on them.
It is also necessary to mention that other edged weapons like eg. TN hewers, which had to be worn with knots ("Troddeln"), have not been worn with them in all (few) photographs I do own/know. Perhaps it has been a matter of availability.
RK hewer photographs in wear are nearly to impossible to be found. In these I do own/know there is no knot to be seen.
Personally I think it would be more constructive to solve such a question in looking for certain official regulations. But declared I myselve am not too much into them.

Thank you for your interest in my topic.The fact of the matter is that they are mostly found without portepee.I'm just interested in the fact.Why some portepee, and on others it is not.Unfortunately, the Internet is very little information (photos).
But I think that this issue will be very interesting to many.
Perhaps anyone has more photos.It would be great to see them.

I purchased a Red Cross Officer grouping years ago and his dagger had a standard silver portapee frozen in place along with his photo album showing his dagger in wear with the portapee, along with several other officers, all having portapees.

There are some parade photos also showing 2 different enlisted men with Hewers, both with knots, can't make out the details of them though, perhaps I'll scan them and enlarge, it may reveal some details of the troddels...

Hello Vitaliy, due to certain construction details I personally do not believe that this NCO troddel could be period.
Perhaps Redbaron will show the mentioned pics of hewers with troddels in wear which could reveal some details.
