What would you say to this dagger? Is this a genuine dagger of the aviation school of the Air Forces of Venezuela?

Yes, original and correct. Not quite the same as a Solingen example, but definitely rare and collectable.

Quite correct Vitold, thank you for the correction. Here is a photo of mine. Ours are the early Eickhorns. I can not tell you if this dagger shown above originally had a center ramp or not.

It looks like it does not. But still, there is no doubt this is original. Although odd the center ramp is missing..

apparently on the top copy of the ring in the center was not immediately, because the glasses are mounted with screws, and the scabbard has no markings that there that was fixed .

My early model has the identical etch as the newer dagger presented here by OLeg.

Glemser also posts one with the identical etch.

In volume 1v of Glemser he has three examples similar to your etch. All are refered to as Air Force Cadet Daggers.

That being said, nothing stops Venezuela from using the same pattern for multiple schools. Although I am speculating here.

We still need to figure out if a center ramp was ever on this scabbard. Oleg, can you get photos of the center of the scabbard?

on the third photo in the second post you can see that the glass and the device are mounted on the screws. consequently, if there were more Central(third glass) that must be a technical screw hole or trace of it (if the glass was) a dent in the surface.

and according to my observations. if the glass medium was selected, and the subject a bit pasaban (used) for what they say scratching the surface, there must be traces of it (oxides, interrupt, scratches, etc.)

So Vitold's example and my example have the Fuerza Aerea Venezuelana which was adopted in 1947.

The first example, in marked, is post 2001.

Hopefully this will account for the design change but let us hear from Oleg.

Kurt has 4 books titled "A guide to military dress daggers" they are volume I through IV.

If you go to my website via the link under my name, you can see all 4. Kurt's books are good for the photos but sometimes lacking in detail. Volume I has one dagger, volume 4 has 4 daggers.

You can also buy the books directly from Kurt. I use to run a special where I was able to ship two complete sets of his books to Europe for less than $100. Unfortunately I ran out of books and then postage became prohibitive. So it is probably cheaper to have the books sent from Canada direct. Let me know if you need help.

Glemser shows photos of them in his volume 4. There is no doubt WKC and Horster produced these as well as many other post war daggers while they were still in business. Eickhorn the same.
