Hi guys.
What would you say to this dagger? Is this a genuine dagger of the aviation school of the Air Forces of Venezuela?
Many thanks in advance.
Oleg.

Yes, original and correct. Not quite the same as a Solingen example, but definitely rare and collectable.
good time of day. it turns out one of the varieties? I met with two rings on the scabbard and other etching on the blade.
this is an early version, or more modern?
like this

Quite correct Vitold, thank you for the correction. Here is a photo of mine. Ours are the early Eickhorns. I can not tell you if this dagger shown above originally had a center ramp or not.

It looks like it does not. But still, there is no doubt this is original. Although odd the center ramp is missing..

apparently on the top copy of the ring in the center was not immediately, because the glasses are mounted with screws, and the scabbard has no markings that there that was fixed .

sorry for my English.
for writing on the blade, one air force, other military aircraft. it can be?
My early model has the identical etch as the newer dagger presented here by OLeg.

Glemser also posts one with the identical etch.

In volume 1v of Glemser he has three examples similar to your etch. All are refered to as Air Force Cadet Daggers.

That being said, nothing stops Venezuela from using the same pattern for multiple schools. Although I am speculating here.

Sorry I can not add more to this discussion.
Jim W, thank you very much!
very interesting and informative.
it was very nice to talk to and learn something new.

Oleg, thanks for an interesting topic of discussion of the subject.
We still need to figure out if a center ramp was ever on this scabbard. Oleg, can you get photos of the center of the scabbard?
on the third photo in the second post you can see that the glass and the device are mounted on the screws. consequently, if there were more Central(third glass) that must be a technical screw hole or trace of it (if the glass was) a dent in the surface.
and according to my observations. if the glass medium was selected, and the subject a bit pasaban (used) for what they say scratching the surface, there must be traces of it (oxides, interrupt, scratches, etc.)
Yes ,Oleg, there is a photo of this place bigger?
So Vitold's example and my example have the Fuerza Aerea Venezuelana which was adopted in 1947.

The first example, in marked, is post 2001.

Hopefully this will account for the design change but let us hear from Oleg.
Jim, thank you very much for your help.
Best,
Oleg.
I also have thought about its recent origin (late in the simplified version). but information about these subjects is almost no. described in the catalog and in the Internet we found an earlier version.we'll wait for Oleg.
Jim, thank you very much for your help. it was nice to talk.
Best,Vitold.
Jim W , and could You give the full title of the book Kurt Glemser . want to find to read about these daggers
Kurt has 4 books titled "A guide to military dress daggers" they are volume I through IV.

If you go to my website via the link under my name, you can see all 4. Kurt's books are good for the photos but sometimes lacking in detail. Volume I has one dagger, volume 4 has 4 daggers.

You can also buy the books directly from Kurt. I use to run a special where I was able to ship two complete sets of his books to Europe for less than $100. Unfortunately I ran out of books and then postage became prohibitive. So it is probably cheaper to have the books sent from Canada direct. Let me know if you need help.
thanks for the offer.

shipping to Russia will be very expensive. I try to look them in the country. we can find the electronic edition.

on Your website (via the link) has already visited. very much interesting. I like the site. found further confirmation of the originality of certain items..I saved the link in their bookmarks.

thanks again with respect Vitold.
I believe there were two more manufacturers of this model: WKC and Hörster.
please explain on what basis this confidence.
Glemser shows photos of them in his volume 4. There is no doubt WKC and Horster produced these as well as many other post war daggers while they were still in business. Eickhorn the same.
well, not a secret, and so it is clear that in many countries in Latin America and Africa, the basis of the single German daggers samples.

and the leading German manufacturers have left this segment of the market without the attention..
I find it difficult to explain his idea, but I'll try.

I'm talking about a different spelling phrases on the blade. maybe it's the nuances of the language, but I think this is the difference between professions :1. the flight wing of the air force and 2.terrestrial services of the BBC.
)) not "BBC" - to the ground air force
Good time of day.
Another question: what kind of suspension from the Venezuelan daggers. in particular this one?
I have no knowledge of the hangers. I was hoping someone else would have a reference?
OK! if I find will share.
Yes !! found)))

I understand the straps (hangers) in all branches of the same, only different daggers

managed to find a photo

Good work Vitold. Thank you for sharing. Great photos.
thank you!
add. for cavalry use other straps. on release, the cadets receive sword instead of a cutlass.
good day!
I want to show a small reconstruction of a suspension for this dagger.

I apologize for the photo quality, phone shot.
with respect.
