Nice looking hewer & presentation. Unusual taking them out for walks? Nah, sounds perfectly normal to me
Thanks Billy. Just hope nobody saw me!
Looks very nice with interesting presentation.
Who's the maker?
Don't worry,i doing more crazy things with them, not just walking
Stingray
...I took mine out for a beer the other night, of course it's normal
Manxman,
Great looking hewer and pictures.
Rich
It says Tholens (?) s/l Helff (T... presented it to his dear Helff). Due to the pics (Manxman, I have the same problem you have, always wonder how other members are able to load big and detailed looking pics)I am not sure about the first name.
1935 dated hewers have to be in some certain, early quality and the nice stag grip plates and the heavy silvering seems to conform.
And, yes, it would be nice to tell us (perhaps show a pic) what the maker is.
Regards,
That is hilarious Rich ! LOL
something new-gives me n idea. thanks paul
Its a Carl Krebs with Ges Gesch mark beneath the RAD triangle. I'm far from an expert but it was purchased from a very reputable auction house. Came with the full leather hanger.
I think it looks good with the oak trees in the background. There was even a buzzard flying around and the moon was high in the sky at the time.
I don't know if others have posted 'location' photos before but it makes a nice change from throwing the dagger on your bed for a photo. I'll post some of my SA soon and leave my best, the SS till last.
Any other observations please gentlemen?
I like this hewer a lot nice find
