did anyone see this? it was on ebay and only lasted an hour, it sold as a Buy it now for $175.00 ebay item number 180789603611 was this the real thing or a copy?

I almost went for it, but I did not like the color of the crossguards and the ring above. it didn't look right to me. whats your say? did someone get a deal or fooled?

Fake dagger. This laser made MM was also found at Army and LW second blades.

The dagger is someone's attempt at reproducing a Bahnschutz Water Protection Police dagger which I think is composed of some fake parts & possibly some period pieces as well. The details of the crossguard, as you note, is off looking in both color & design, especially the eagle's head. The ferrule above the grip looks to be something completely reproduced & not very well either.

The blade's maker mark was used during the 3R so far as I know but I have never seen it on a legitmate Heer/Luft dagger although I have on a few fakes. The grip? Who knows, maybe period, maybe not but I think you did well to avoid this dagger.

in Germany i see there are many daggers with this Monogramm .........i think there are all fakes.....
