Hello all,
I am trying to do a little research on DLV/NSFK knives and was hoping to get a little help from fellow collectors.
If you are willing, let me know and I will e-mail a short form (on MS Excel) to fill out about each knife. Should only take about 5 minutes (MAX!) to complete but you will need the knife "in hand".
ANY and ALL help is VERY much appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance,
Johnny
PS- Information about any "special" aspects of a dagger construction based on the maker will be shared with those who participate.
Johnny, I'm game, here's my e-mail,

Johnny, you may want to get in touch with Craig G.or check back forums as I think he was doing a study on this type.
I have checked back threads but did not see anything about a study being done.
I will drop a note to Craig.
Thanks,
Johnny
I contacted Craig.
He says that he has NOT done a study of these knives... Fairly virgin terretory here...
That's interesting John... I had a Heller NSFK with the same "fault" to the enamael on the Swaz. Mine appeared both sides with the same area and shape. Is your Swaz the same both sides?
Red
Description: Heller
Wow Red, I never even noticed that. But yes, I think its on both sides base on my picture. I'll have to upstairs and get the dagger out. Is the round disc a separate part that was inserted? John
I've noticed this enamel "fault" on other NSFK Hellers. I also have a Heller DLV knife without the fault, so perhaps it crept in later on... The disc is pressed into the crossguard, I would assume each maker would apply the Swaz themselves which would also account for the variences in the Swaz thickness depending on the maker.
BTW Johnny, did you get my pics and forms?
Red
Red- Yes, I did recieve them THANK YOU!!!!
About the central swaz. I (so far) believe that this was supplied by whoever the maker of the crossguard was. Differenced in the Swaz TEND to follow differences in the crossguard.
The trouble I am running into is getting info. on enough examles to draw any reliable conclusions, so PLEASE kepp 'em coming guys!!But, for sure, there ar a LOT of little variations in these knives.
Good hunting,
Johnny
Johnny,
I just picked up an early Eick. Please send me the form if you don't mind.
