Hello all,

I'm fairly new to the forum, I have posted before about a dagger. Anyhow, I work as a researcher for an auction house and I have this M42 Double Decal Helmet. Both decals are actually hand painted on, The SS rune is not typical and the Tri-color Heer emblem is in the wrong color order. We think it is an SS volunteer helmet, but I am not sure. Any help is appreciated! The photos are attached.

I'm a dagger guy, but after 30 years looking at forums and shows, I'd go with a talented amateur painter enhancing his helmet.

You may want to post a couple of inside shots, too.

the tri-color badge and the runes are reversed - the runes should be on the right side if facing forward.
