Hi guys hoping someone could point me in the right direction regarding this Helmet. I have no Idea about it.

I received a box of helmets from a friend today.

a guess on my part would be a military school about 1880.

My guess is some kind of police but I have no knowledge in this stuff....

Due to the absence of any crest, unit or civil designations, I would guess this to be a c.1880s-1900s fraternal accessory ( ie. Knights of Pythias or similar).
