So, I'm sitting here in the duldrums of an Alaska winter, and needless to say there isn't anything coming out of the woodwork this time of year (except some firearms...I just picked up a K43). So, what I'm wondering is how much better is it on the opposite side of the country? I frequently here stories about the great finds to be found on the east coast at flea markets, estate sales, and such....so is it that much better? I looked high and low last summer up here and all I had to show for it was one helmet (M40) and a couple of luger mags....Chris
Dude, Your killing us...where's the pics? Is a K43 the same as a G43? Cold down here in No. CA too...maybe not as bad as up there. Get yourself a digital camera and share! Want to see the helmet and the rifle! Regards, Chris
Here's some pix of the K43, DUV44. Bought it at the last gunshow along w/ two extra mags for 800$ OTD. The stock has been sanded a little bit was cutoff the rear end, I have already spliced in a repair of laminated wood, and it'll look like an original duffel cut by the time I'm done. Chris....

Front end...pardon the repro sling, I'm going to get an original soon....
Final one, it's going to clean up well with the splice I have added off of an old K98 stock (not shown).....I think what I've found out up here is that firearms are more prevelant (it's Alaska after all), but other items are few and far between. 2 degrees for the high today.
Here's the helmet, there is a SD Luftwaffe hiding under the paint....100$ Cool
