Hi guys most of us will never be able to afford SA and SS honor daggers Feldernhalle naval honor or Damascus I make good money and have collected since 1982. I began collecting daggers in earnest since 1994. Ive had many attainable daggers, SA, heer luft naval nskk nsfk red cross rad and SS too many to remember. I have had chained SS, chained NSKK, government officials etc. Last year I finally obtained a near mint full Rohm. This year a near mint government officials and near mint chained SS. I am presently trying to obtain a Himmler. What is your favorite affordably obtainable dagger? Have you obtained it finally? cheers, Ryan my two yet to obtain are a Himmler and Rohm SS
No one? frown not like the good ole days on GDC
Ryan:

My favourite and very affordable dagger is the Luft2... lots of varieties to find and some super conditioned pieces can be found for what I consider to be very low prices (well under $1,000 for mint conditioned, fully gilted ones).

Strangely my favourite and most difficult to obtain was the F Dula hunting piece. Expensive, but not a fortune, but you try to find one in minty condition,,took me years! next perhaps the full stag RAD. again they are out there, and not expensive, but a minty one.........again it took me years

...AND.......Luftwaffe survival machete. not hard to find unless you'll only settle for a stone mint one. I was very lucky! lastly accoutrements: Portepee's for the TENO Hewer, and minty HJ Leader straps. I guess its the hunt-and the wait-that makes these things special.
too true minty second Lufts are great when they have all of their fire gilt I just had a mint un issued Tiger 100% gilt front and back striking funny what you both refer to as favorites and not hard to find are nearly impossible up here or outside of the US cheers, Ryan
Sadly my fav was sold on ebay back before the ban a J.Schmidt SA. The 1st dagger i ever purchased. Not crazy rare or in minty condition but it had a look about it. Spoke volumes in my view. I always liked the minty stuff and once Mike Hansen got me hooked on tags i began a upgrade of many pieces. Gambino was my go to guy for many of them. It was sorta the dawn of internet buying and wow i was a kid in a candy store all over... But things change and the tag obsession really took off. But like all things stuff changes. So out the other side of collecting i found myself back to the grungy stuff. Like going home i guess. You cant go back but you can revisit with a bit of a different flavor. So my favorite thing is nice unmessed with things or should i say uncleaned. No debate please

Beautiful Postal leaders in fine un messed condition a true beauty Sterling Gambino excellent fellow to deal with. Ebay used to be fantastic I pulled amazing items off there back in 1999 2001 for stupid prices those were the good ole days cheers, Ryan
god do I have to just pick one.I had two himmlers the worse of the two went to Russia.I guess if I had to pick it would be a Feldernhalle there were several at the sos but I just could not force my self to pay someday
I hear yah I think Feldernhalle are beautiful daggers many think crudely made but I like them just cant afford them cheers, Ryan
Agree on the Feldhernhalle; Paul Casberg's superb timeless design. Most of my collection has left me after the long years, but I kept the FHH back for me. The kids can junk it or sell it when I'm gone. It was attainable/affordable when it came to me.
Barry I would love to have a fraction of what you have passed by over the decades cheers, Ryan
Would love to see pictures cheers
