There were a number of Norwegian nurses who volunteered into the German army during the war. They were known as Frontsoster, or Front Sister, and the man who fought for the Germans on the eastern front were Frontkjemper, or Front Fighters.

I just picked up this small frontsoster grouping.. I think that the Wehrmacht card is the piece that makes this collection.

That is a nice grouping John! So you're back home?

Yes, Gerry, got back a week ago.

Here is another grouping that I scored while I was in Norway.

It is a rather large collection of both German and Norwegian items from a Norwegian nurse serving on the eastern Front named Ida Kohler.

She was a Nasjonal Samling member and supporter and then enlisted in the German Red Cross.

John, that is just fantastic my friend! Hopefully I'll find some stuff when I'm in Europe (leaving July 20th).
