I'm not sure what the V shape fake is but I'm pretty sure this buckle is bad.

The V "chest" fake. You are indeed correct. It is that one. Around since the late 90's.

Probably but good old Jack at Globe Militaria if any of you remember sold some of these fakes in aluminum. I dropped a lot on them circa 77 to 79 timothy

None of the so-called V-chest were out before the late 90's. The V-chest has a very particular eagle's design and is now available various metals (steel, aluminum, etc) and markings (36/42, RODO, 155/40, etc).
