There was a time on this forum that you could get a prompt and clear answer to questions like these. But those members have moved on. For myself the buckle has some good ware and so does the belt. But these are reltivly expensive sets and you need some experience to see the descrepencies. Good luck and thanks for sharing youre belt and buckle, Ian.
Stress on that back buckle area really bad, but to me personally it looks good. Looks like a OLC unmarked typical of late war. The lower jaw looks odd but may be a old die as they took a beating on the steel buckles. But to me I would say yes to it and don't mess with the roller buckle. My hands have a hard time not fixing things and have learned to not do it after many broken things along the way. Honest wear (alot) to the front and as I am not a buckle expert I am comparing with 3 I have in steel in the store unmarked, but in the flat silver paint.

If I were in the market for one, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one.

thanks guys for your opinions,
Sad to say I had to pass on this one,and it was not expensive, but as I am a dagger collector and dont know much about buckles I needed some opinions before i would buy it,

the seller had some buyers and he could not wait any longer, as he needed the cash.

Ian, Doughboy and Grumpy thanks for your answers.

Cheers

Passing on that one you made your day !

The buckle is a well known repro but improved to deceive.
