I was going thru some of my granddads stuff from WWII .. I found a few wooden boxes .. some with wood tanks and another that had a Rockwarts Gang half track .. it is in perfect condition. . you can even wind it up .. it has head lights on it and everything .. it has about 6 to 8 soilders in it all with their guns and everything .. Upon further research I found out my granddad had sent it from Nazi germany while he was there.. He was a tank commander.. Im not sure if anyone will know about it .. I am including pictures of it .. there is still a stamp on one of the seats that tells you what it is .. anyone have any ideas ?

All I can tell you is that I've seen these sell for serious money.

Welcome to the forum! I think this is one nicely made type of Mittlerer Zugwagen. This type was used to tow a artillery piece and of course personnel. Send me an email whenever you get tired of playing with it. Smile

The stamp is for your instructions for directional purposes. rückwärts= backwards, 2 gang= 2 gear.

This guy would probably have some good information regarding this one. It's fantastic.

Ideas ?

1. Don't play with it as the tracks are fragile and the canvas hood may be too

2. As someone said, you have something very expensive there. If you are going to sell it, do some research.

A neat small scale version of a German prime mover.

Nats,

I thought these were a type of Schützenpanzerwagen, a leichter and Mittlerer? Maybe the same type chassis?

Is this one from company Hausser or an Elastolin one? I assume from Hausser.
