I would like to publicly thank JR for his assistance leading to my purchase of an HJ maker I did not have. He saw it on a site I am not a member of and brought it to my attention as well as contacted the owner on my behalf. Everytime I get soured on this hobby of ours something like this ocurrs that restores my faith in our fellow collectors. He is truly one of the nice guys. A little while back I was fortunate enough to get a book and signed photo of a fellow in the book from him at a very reasonable cost. JR, many thanks. Russ
I agree JR you are one of the Top Notch guy on GDC and your post make this site worth coming too everyday.. And you are without a doubt on of the best people I've had the Pleasure of buying from.
And one of the best photographers here (not only crisp pictures but awesome setups)
Bah, I taught him everything he knows
.
One of the good guys !!
Really JR is one of the best friends anyone can find in our hobby this days. Hes ever ready to help other collectors and to answer any question.
A very nice person; the only bad thing he has an small collection with poor pieces and bargain stuff.............. :-)
I have to echo the feelings of the guys above, top notch guy and a great friend.I have had the pleasure of seeing his collection a few times, the SA and SS daggers he has are outstanding along with all the other beautiful pieces he has. Collecting should be fun, I know it is for him, Well done JR.
Gary
I've known JR for couple of years now and it is always a pleasure to see him again at the SOS and the Max show.
Also bought a few daggers from him.
There ain't too many guys like him in the hobby.
JR for President !
JR is a God-fearing Colorado boy, like me. Enough said. He does not remember, but we met in my earliest collecting days at shows in Denver.
Oh yes, GO BRONCOS!
Very true!
If more were like him the hobby would be
so much better!
Tip of the hat ol buddy!

JR is a top notch guy!
Hey Degans some great pics there!
I will always remember the first time I ever met JR - he had shaved his head for the occasion. Then, the next year, I knocked on his door and, in a fit of drunken friendly rage, threw a mint SS Hanger into the darkness of his room, and collected my $200 the next day. Then, he graciously had me stay in his home overnight in 2001, when I was driving across the country to make California my new home. He's also come out to San Diego a couple times, and we've enjoyed dinner together. Needless to say, he's one of my favorite people in our hobby.
I agree with all of the above. We talk at least ounce or twice a week and he is ever ready to lend a hand or advice on any project I am working on. We salute you my friend.......Jimmy
I agree, as with the rest of you . . . I too have found JR to be, like his photography, "top shelf"! ~ Ian
My Dad is at a Judges' conference last week and next week but he wanted me to post and tell you the HJ came from Denmark that JR helped him get.He hasn't seen it but it has brass rivets and real early grips. The scabbard might not be original to the piece because it has two runners. The exclamation point has the "wiggle" in the line like a lot of early ones do. it is neat & is a Herman Schneider and came wrapped in a Danish newspaper dated 1945. I have written to the seller to see if there is something significant about the newspaper. Dad just wanted me to tell you guys this and to thank JR again. Lance Neighbors
