Congratulations, Stingray.
That is one maker mark that you just don't see on Navies.
And, the condition looks superb.
Well done, my friend.
John
Ivan,
Beautiful Navy. Great addition to your already fabulous pack collection.
It looks to be in excellent condition.
Great job.
Rich
Ivan congratulations on your new navy what a rare beautiful dagger welcome to the Pack navy club I only know a handful of guys who can say they are members.
What a rare piece and in great condition too! This is a dagger missing from most navy collections. Congretulations and thanks for sharing.
Danny
really nice dagger in good condition, congratulation..
Ivan,
I agree, the condition is superb but I would say the maker's rarity trumps even that. Really great looking dagger, something I'm sure you waited countless years for. Well done!
Thanks gentlemans
When i received the pictures from the guy i bought it,i was so excited that I had to sell some of my etched bayos to raise the money for this baby.
But who would miss this opportunity
Stingray
Well, Ivan, your gain turned out to be mine as well.
John
Congrats my friend!!
You should change your avatar to Packman!!
Is the blade plated?
That’s a great idea the little Pack Man guy! For an avatar I cam make you one just say the word!
Thanks guys,i will think about it
Paul, the blade is not plated,it's polished.
Regards
Stingray or Packman

Looks just like the little Packer.. er, I mean Packman.
John
Tom,any other to choose from?
Ivan that's really interesting a nonplated blade on a Navy. Never seen that before. I learned something here today.
Congrats again.
BTW never trust a guy from Karnak!
What a great addition to your Pack collection, Ivan, congratulations!
Also, I am very happy to see that "double wired" grip. Exact the same as mine!
Tom Whitmann writes in his book about a triple wired Pack grip... which I found very odd, I must say...
Your new Pack dagger has all the unique viewable Pack Kriegsmarine features! How about the runners in your hammered scabbard?
Best regards,
Herman
Wow! That's a beautiful Pack you got there Herman. Congretulations!
Danny
Another nice Pack Navy - Nothing wrong with a triple wire wrap on a Pack Navy I know of several nice examples
with this feature in fact I thought they all had it till these examples were posted
Herman,that's a super nice dagger,congrats.
Is the blade plated or polished?
You asked about the scabbard runners,so here is a picture.
Regards
Thank you for the nice comments on my dagger, guys!
Hi Ivan,
Blade is polished and runners are metalic, all just the same like yours and very typical/unique for Pack.
Hey Tom,
If some of these Pack triple wire grips could be showed, that would be very interesting for the topic.
Best regards,
Herman
Hello Ivan,
Thanks to you, I just found out about another typical Pack feature: the bal on my scabbard also has a number stamped in it... and I never noticed it in all those years!
Best regards,
Herman
Herman what number you got there?
I have #18, DD Harris dagger is stamped with #29.
The guy I bought from him my dagger, has one more Pack with #10.
Tom(WW2-Collector),can you show us your dagger?
Here is one more picture with #18 stamped on the release button.
Tom yours dagger is absolutely beautiful with amazing patina on pommel.
Regards
Ivan Thank You - I believe what you see are possibly remnants of a previous cleaning? Not by myself of course. Although not evident in the pictures the grip has a glassy look to it.
Thank you for posting your Kriegsmarine Pack dagger, Tom, it is a beauty for sure and the triple grip wire is indeed very nicely applied, much better than the one shown in Wittmann's Navy book in my opinion.
The stamp on the ball of the scabbard of my dagger is a "10" or it could also be "40". Need to take an extra picture soon.
This is a very interesting topic!
Best regards,
Herman
Herman Thank You interesting story – This is the dagger pictured in Wittmanns navy book the previous owner had Tom straighten the wire up after the pictures were taken
Hello Tom,
Aha, it is your dagger in the Wittmann book! That is a nice bonus for the day you want to sell
Smart move!
Well, the grip wire was done very professionaly!
Personaly, I never remove any patina, but would remove these remains of cleaning product on your dagger: with a wooden toothpick and a dry soft teethbrush, all of it would be easely gone if you take the time to do it.
Next picture shows the "10" on the ball of my dagger's scabbard.
The blade is polished, not plated as show in the second picture.
Best regards,
Herman
Great Pack Navies here guys! I an jealous!! Kevin.
Stunning daggers guys I have always liked that Pack logo had it on Armies and Luftwaffe but not on a Navy
Wow, I did know there was only a few of these out there :-)
Mine has # "16" on the ball and metal-scabbard-runners.
And it has polished blade and hammered scabbard.
What is the highest number known?
Best regards,
Henrik
Can we see some pictures of yours? Seems the lightning bolt variety may be rarer then the Hammered?

That is another great Kriegsmarine dagger by Pack, Henrik!
It has all the typical Pack features and... the double wired grip. Can I conclude that the triple wired grip is rather unusual or can we see some other examples with this characteristic ?
When seeing this great topic, one might wonder if this dagger is really so rare...
Best regards,
Herman
Thanks Henrik,that's a twin of my dagger,congrats
Henrik beautiful pack Navy we should talk about a trade I must have something you need?
Herman the only other example I know with the triple grip wire is owned by DD Harris Seems Pack used a triple wire on allot of different blades.
Interesting if you look in the Pack catalog its shows the navy dagger with a triple grip wire. I have been studying the wire configuration on some pack swords and the catalog is an accurate representation of the wire configuration on the grips it shows two grip wires on some swords and 3 on others amazing that this detail is evident and in most cases correlates correctly to the actual production sword.
Ivan, another great addition to your already wonderful collection, I doubt it can get much better than 2 pack's.
Gary
Ivan what a great looking piece the condition is fantastic. Congratulations on a super find.
WOW Ivan, another one..Well done man! Kevin.
Ivan;
How many Packs does one man need?
Now, I could understand your obsession if it were an Eickhorn
Way to go here... these navies are beauties.
John
Ivan great looking Navy's
Thanks guys for kind words.
It may sound crazy, but I'm probably PACKaddic
Regards
Probally......
One Pack Navy is, in itself, something to behold. Two Pack Navies in the collection of the same guy is astounding. Leave some for the rest of us, will ya? Well done my friend!
If you are really dedicated to finding great items like this, it isn't astounding. It's the result of a lot of hard work, and a little luck.
Great catches, Ivan!
Best regards,
Dave

and your making it look they are laying around everywhere.
Congrats !
Serge
Thanks guys
Nice and rare daggers. Even in my collection of Navies I don't have any from this maker. :-(
I've seen a few daggers, so believe me they're hard to find.
Congratulations, Gentlemen.
Best;
Hermann
