I have a long shot at a second pattern Luft dagger with a damascus blade. The owner says maker is "Scidecicus Solingen" I'm obviously not a German dagger collector. Can anyone help me out with the makers name? Thanks

I think you're looking for Fridericus, which is a known maker on damascus blades. And that pretty much sums up my knowledge on the topic

Thanks! Now that's a name I've heard before.

There are many reproductions out there and one must be very careful before putting big $$$ on the table.
If it is indeed a Luft 2nd type by Fridericus, make sure that the tang is marked.
