Early double oval Eickhorn (with lacquer) and later aluminum Horster. Having these in hand they are very different in size, weight, fittings etc.

Two EXCELLENT examples of their types! I too must comment on the Eick, Super mix of patina and laquered area's! Congrats!! Kevin.

Both extremely nice! The Eickhorn particularly so. Whilst not a big fan of Eickhorn per se, the early quality pieces are in my humble opinion superior in every detail.

Is the blade on the Horster much wider than the Eickhorn? It seems that the scabbard and grip are quite a bit wider.

Thanks guys. Rich, the base of the blade on the Horster measure 2.5 cms while the base of the blade on the Eick measures 2.2 cms . Also the scabbard throat on the Horster is slightly thicker. Grip on Horster is also about .2 cms bigger.
