First off, i have to state that this type of blade isn't even in my realm ! I had to ask a real "pro" for advice on it.

I noticed right off the bat that the maker wasn't Eickhorn. In this day and age it never hurts to ask collector who own real ones !!!!

There were a lot of these daggers around in the 60's-brought to the market place by Mr.Atwood, one of the all time fathers of fake and parts daggers. Some of the parts were left over Navy Honor parts-there were a few original pommels ( not this one) and the grips were real ivory. Lots of these are in collections-thankfully none of them are exactly like the originals.

Bob: Some of these postwar made or assembled navy honor daggers that are out there are better than other. The better ones have the correct components while other have the wrong crossguards (either Imperial or later) and/or pommels. Yours has the wrong crossguard and the wrong pommel. In addition, the eyelets on the scabbard bands are serrated which is incorrect as well. As it stands, this is a fantasy piece.

I couldn't believe a long time antique dealer would think it's worth 75K

Having been around "Antique" dealers for more years than I care to remember, I can assure you that a significient percentage of them are really ignorant about antiques particularly high end items.
Asking them for advice is a lot like going to a gun show and expecting the "gun" dealers to really know anything. If it isn't in the BBGV most of these guys are clueless.

Looks like a decent piece of post war Turkish pattern damascus work. Either by Paul Muller or Robert Kurten. That's about it though. 75K? No way!!!
