Gustavo:
Nice dagger and a really neat TM. I like those Tigers!
John
I dont have permission from Denny to share this image here (i didnt ask), but since it is available right now publically on another site, here is his collage of Tiger marks in chronological order
Thanks also to "Wotan" another generous and knowledgeable collector and moderator who also gave me feedback ahead of buying this.
Small alteration by wotan in accordance with Gustavo.
Description: Denny Tiger marks
Congrats Gustavo !!
That dagger really have a personality, awsome piece
Bets, Hakan
Congrats Gustavo with that nice Army Tiger
I like it a lot with the personal engraving.
Take care of this dagger
Best Regards LH 600
Very,very nice!!
Gustavo-
Very nice. I really love the white gripped Heers. I've always said i'm gonna' find a nice one to hold onto..and certainly a named example like this one would be wonderful specimine for a collection.
Congrats on a nice one.
Thats a very nice Tiger Gustavo!
Looking over the six variations on the tiger trademarks you posted above I was looking at one in my collection. Mine might be a seventh variation, Look at the similarity to type #2 but notice the diference in the "R". My dagger kinda looks like type 3, but spaced further from the crossguard.
Mine is all early production with a tapered tang and an orange juice grip.
Dennys type 2
Thanks folks. At 520 or under $800, I am very satisfied with this purchase. Reseach wise, the chances of pinning this down to a single officer are very high.
A beauty Gustavo hope you pin down the owner.
Beautiful dagger Gustavo.
I didn't know that there were so many Tiger variations.
We never stop to learn in this hobby.
Very nice personalized Army by Tiger Gustavo. -Congrats!
-serge-
thanks guys, would be nice to see some more!
Gus, most of your daggers appear to be personalised, do you specialise or do you collect anything and just get lucky with the personolised ones
Nolan
Hey Nolan, you are right, and its quite intentional.. which means it takes me longer to find a piece for my collecion. I have tried to describe what im doign here
http://www.zeitzeugen1939.com/material.html
Gus I think todays collectors are faced with many choices in their collecting preference choices, much down to budget. When I first came back to GD's I wanted to do what I did back in the late 60's early 70's, i.e. have one of each, it soon became apparrant that that was not on, I just collect Heers and 2nd lufts now, to include etched when I can find nice ones at a decent price.
I have watched your collection grow on here (GDC)and you have some wonderful personal pieces, I hope you get many more.

Indeed, and hope I'll be able to see it with my own eyes, since I'll be meeting Gustavo in Madrid in the next few days.
Enjoy your trip Pat, Madrid is a beautiful city and I have to catch up on 749 posts so I'll be posting on every thing and anything
.
Just BTW of course
if you happened to have that Luft with you in Madrid
postage to UK would be cheaper than from the Great White North
Seriously, have a nice trip
Nolan
Thank you mate !
It is now 22:00 here in Canada and 4:00 in the UK.....aren't in bed yet !
Perhaps, are you too busy watching this...

One of my favorites is this early Tiger with a Monogramed pommel and the "S" on the scabbard.
Regards,
-serge
Serge thats awesome... so this is the earliest Tiger then
I believe so.
Brass base, heavy silver plate, taper tang, slant grip and earliest Tiger logo.
Some have called it the "Big Tiger or "King Tiger" logo.
Regards,
-serge-
Serge, what an awsome dagger
Do you have a picture of the hanger to post aswell, just looking at the clip you realize
these got character aswell !
Have a great weekend mate !!
Best, Hakan
Ps. Pat, have a safe trip to Spain !!
Thank You Gustavo and Hakan.
Yes, this early Tiger came with this set of hangers. I never saw a set like them before.
West Wishes to you too Hakan.
I love Madrid...wish I was there now.
You guys have a great time.
Regards,
-serge-
ME LIKE THOSE CLIPS
Killer rig you got there Serge !!
Congrats once again, Hakan
Now I know which maker marked I want for my next Army dagger.
I really love these personnalized daggers and yours Serge, is another fantastic example and a trademark to kill for on top of that.
Where can I get myself a big Tiger ?
Thanks Hakan and Pat.
With all that brass it's a heavy Army rig.
To find a Big Tiger Pat? Not easy to find but you know Denny. I would see if he could be talked out of a Big Kitty.
Regards,
-serge-
Guys, one of u might want the early Tiger marked (big cat like Serges) transitional DLV at Wittmanns site, with an amazing inscription dedication to the departing commander of an airfield. It was pictured in one of the books.
Like your hangers, here's some pics of mine.

I think it was around 1am when I posted that Pat, listned to some music for an hour or so then definitely lights out by 2.
Benny Hill, classic British humour, after political correctness killed him off in the UK I believe he tried his luck in the US but without any significant success, thanks for that Pat.
Nolan
Last.
Where the h... do you find these amazing hangers gentlemen ?
I whould sure like a pair of those !!!!!
Hakan
I haven't been all sincere here, actually I sold these to my friend LH 600 just a week ago.
BIG regret, but I needed the money for other goodies so......
It seems to me that there is a lot of trading/buying going on in Scandinavia nowadays.
Bismarck, LH 600, Hakan, Nakida, Jesper......and so on.

Who's next in line......IKEA ?
Hehe..IKEA is just for storage, they have some great cabinets for displaying militaria.
But you are right, the interest for militaria and collecting is growing rapidly over here.

You are right, my display cabinet actually comes from IKEA.
Very nice Pat.
I especially like your LW uniform.
Here's some of my stuff. Not IKEA, but quite similar.
Thank you Bismarck and you also have a very nice display of fine artifacts.
I'm especially proud of this Luft uniform, which by the way came from Copenhagen.
Stunning uniform indeed.
I see you have a beautiful etched luft 2 framed on the wall, have you posted this one somewhere in here?
Thanks !
I did post some pics of my Voos Luft dagger a while ago, but I cannot find the link.
Here are some pics of it.
Bought it at the Max 2004 and is simply the best conditioned engraved Luft that I have ever seen.
Plated blade and full background frosting.
2
WOW and I really mean WOW.
What a beauty.
Mint condition, I guess this makes you proud.
PS: Maybe we are a bit of topic here now?
Hey Pat, beautiful displays. BTW, do u have a photo of this other Oberstleutnant?
No, but I do have his name written in the inside label.
Will post a pic of it in a minute.
Holy Moly Pat !
What a beauty, and first class all trough as always
Hakan
Thanks Hakan !
Gustavo, the inside label is a bit worn and I cannot really be certain about the name.
It is written "Brekl" or "Brakl".
It looks brand new on the outside.
Absolutely enviable.
Pat...that's a stone beauty of a etched 2nd Luft Voos!!
Regarding the Army "tigers", don't you still have the rarest of the Tigers? I mean rarer than the Big Tiger...the "Golden Tiger"?
Now that Tiger is the Rarest of them all...one look will tell ya all why.
Regards to all,
-serge-
Thank you Serge !
I do have one Tiger Army but I had to sell my soul in order to get it,
but you know what, it was all well worth it.
An early minty Damascus blade made by Paul Dinger.
The tang is marked with the craftman's initials "P.D"
This is the only known example that I have seen so far but I'm certain that there are others, though you can probably count them on one hand.

Now I am speechless !
Hakan
Pat,
You have a great eye for a quality dagger and your collection is world class. This damascus army and the previous engraved luft would be the highlight of anybody's collection.
Wagners, brass based Tiger is another rarity and I automatically love any heer dagger with a 1st Pack crossguard. Very nice with the addition of the personalisation.
Pat are you trying to wind me up with photo's of that Luft
Nolan
Unbelievable, what a fantastic dagger.
Pat, Glad you still like my old dagger I sold 18 years ago
There are more out there, I had a 2nd luft tiger, Milestone had two, The old Waites collection had at least two, and have seen a few pop up longer ago at the shows...See you at the MAX??? Regards: James
Thanks Degens!
There is Pat's Tiger.
The best "Tiger" in the world.
Didn't Waite have a gold raised personalized damascus Tiger or am I thinking of another?
Is there such a beast to anyones knowledge?
Regards,
-serge-
Very nice daggers you shown Pat
Nice display Bismarck and Pat
Very impressive .
Thanks for sharing exellent pics

Im glad the SS soldier escape to Germany without their daggers
Pat,
I'm speechless as well! What can you say, but WOW! Thanks for the treat.
Is their anything special you do to keep the damas blade clean?
Hi Mikee,
When I bought this dagger two years ago from Jason Burmeister, I asked him what to do to preserve my Damascus blade.
His reply was ............. nothing.
He told me that I should never try to clean damascus with semichrome or any other chemical products.
All I do, is to wipe out the blade with a clean cotton cloth and "voila".
Serge thats one fine Tiger
Thanks Tom.
I would like to find a great aluminum Spitzer like you've got. That's a Beaut!
Regards,
-serge-
