Had the camera out and thought that I would share a couple photos of my 1st pattern Blood Order. It was awarded to Franz Fuchs, a member of SA Munchen and also a holder of the GPB and Coburg Badge.
Erich, you keep finding these unique things
Amazing! I think I saw your Koburg Badge too? Was that also of Fuchs?
Bye,
KR
Hi Karin and thanks again for your kind words. No my Coburg badge is not attibuted to Fuchs but I wish that it was! Best, Erich
Erich, must say that piece is stunning!
always great to see these rare awards might be next on my radar.
Thanks for the kind words guys, being a Political guy, the Blood Order and Coburg Badge are my all time favorites due to their history of the very beginings of the Party.
Nice blood order Erich and to know who it bleonged to is an added bonus. You have a great collection of political items. Never get tired of looking at your posts.
Rod
Rod, the great thing about the first pattern Orders is that you can identify the recipient and trace their history in the early Party.
That is good to know Erich. Doubt whether I will ever own one though but you never know?
Rod
Congrats on owning this gem.
If any other members have a Blood Order in their collections, please post them!
I forgot to add this rare little ribbon device that's a nice accessary to the BO.
Here is a quick picture of my 1st. pattern Blood order #335 with an original ribbon bar device that was obviously worn by the owner.

Thanks for posting your fantastic Order John, it's always a pleasure to see! Best, Erich
I just noticed my typo in the title of this thread. It should be "BLUTORDEN".
Fixed. Great Thread.

Here is my latest trio of 1st pattern Blood Orders. Had the pleasure of photographing them today before they headed to the bank. They represent my haul during the past 12 months.I'll be adding more pics on WAF , the picture sizing on here is a real pain, far to small.
Description: Trio Blutorden
And here is an overview of the collection ,minus those 3 and a couple others that didn't make this particualr photocall
I only own two second pattern now, cased. Have focused 100% on the 1st pattern medal apart from on occasions when a second pattern has come up for a reasonable amount.
Always searching for more................
Now this thread is hopping and thanks Jon for adding your " little collection" here!
And a little grouping with my BO and some related items.
You guys are making me jealous, what wonderful collections of BO,s and related items.
I have a BO ribbon bar like John,s now all I need is my great uncles BO.
Horst
Very nice collection. Thanks for sharing.
A new addition for my collection.....
3 digit 1st Pattern.

Nice Jon, I was hoping that you would chime in and post some of your collection on this thread!
A nice rare publication John and thanks for adding it to our growing little thread!
John,,,that IS nice! any photos of the Blood flag??
Following on John's theme, here's a Blood Order related photo card that I have that kinda says it all!
Fantastic items, thanks for showing.
Here is my 2nd Pattern BO owned by SS Sturmbannfuhrer and Major d.Schutzpolizei Hans Dobeck. I had evidence that the owner was Dobeck, but the proof lay in his party records that provided the BO number.

Screamer!
Joe, a very important and rare attributed 2nd pattern BO to an important Austrian and thanks much for adding it to our little BO thread!
Very nice BO JoeW, congrats.
Knowing the name of a second type is the best thing. One day those namelists will hopefully be possible match to the corresponding numbers.
best regards,
Gaston
Hi Gaston, nice to see you here, have fun!
Here is a quick update of my Blutorden collection.
Getting hard to find them these days, but not impossible.
There are a couple missing from this picture. Anyone else wish to share their Blood Orders?
Description: collection
A great money shot Jon and it looks like you're on your way to having your own 9 Nov. anniversary march!
Thanks Erich, but you know me I'm always looking for the next one.....
. Here is one I picked up 2 years ago,a colleague over on WAF coloured the photo of him for me! I own his Blood Order and many photographs and post war passports etc.
Description: Pic
Jon, is this a 1st or 2nd pattern BO?
First pattern Erich, he was SA.
Thanks Jon, thought so! Let's see some more Blood Orders guys, anyone?
I ownly got the book but it is a little beginning?
.
Janjan, you have the first edition. A second revised edition in larger format without paper jacket was published some years ago. Curiously, Patzwall failed to date this second edition. But what is curious is his list of 2nd Model BO recipients and awarding date periods. His book is well documented in his discussion of the BO, save for this section at the end of the book. Does anyone know from where he acquired the info to create this list?
Joe,
I have seen the list of those awarded the 2nd pattern which I think were found in the National Archive some years ago. But still no key to put the names and numbers together as of yet.
Just saw this thread! I enlarged a couple pics!
Jons many blood orders was very small so clarity not good!
If he could make another few shots we could enlarge!
Its enough to make you drool!
Hope guys don't mind!
PVON
Could still make them bigger!
I would like to know more about the ribbon bar device. How rare is it to find? Is it marked in silver content?
Are there forgeries?
--dj--Joe
Joe,
Not much is really known about the ribbon devices other than there appears to be two different types. My example is made of actual BO ribbon and was probably worn on the lapel while Johns looks like a more traditional ribbon bar. The lapel ribbon type seems to have been only included with 1st pattern medals.
Thanks Erich,
So it was an issued piece and not a commercial purchase?
--dj--Joe
Not sure, could have been an extra but not enough is known about their purpose. All the ribbon devises like my example were found with cased examples so it's anyone's guess.
BTTT, been quiet for some time.
here is a bar for sale but does look odd to me any thoughts
Hmmm, guessing, the ribbons could be period. The devices look sad, two are lacking detail and two either are bent or have extra material along the edges. The LS I have not seen before and would have been represented differently.
Have seen Blood Orders on a single ribbon but not on a bar that I recall. Don't feel that is a blood order ribbon anyway.
Any reverse pic. ?
--dj--Joe
Well, the Blutorden ribbon is a fake for starters.
Make that some of the ribbons may be good.
The NSDAP ribbon is also not good upon looking closer. Plus the fact that the 25 would be worn with the 15 and 10 year ribbon with devices also.
--dj--Joe
There was no ribbon bar device for the BO. The others aren't good either IMO.
THANKS FOR THE OPINIONS GUYS THOUGHT IT WAS DOGY
Yes indeed Erich called it right. Leave this bar well alone.
thanks for the opinions all confirmed
PAUL
Looks like John P did not have a problem with the BO device at some point in time.
Yes, he liked the device but I don't. There was no authorized ribbon bar for the BO. The ribbon device that i posted was for a lapel.
Agree I don't like that either. I do however like this one and hence its in my collection....
A little eye candy, about time I posted some up here on GD.com.
Here we have a recent(ish) trio of 1st patterns. and a really cool early 2nd pattern I picked up. Appears to have been drilled at some point , maybe for a key chain or necklace? Shows much wear but still highly collectable in my mind, with a cracking photo pulled from the archives :}

Jon,, the detail on that device is really something! maybe a close up shot if you can!
The piece from Peps collection,,,is that a stic pin type mount,,or pin and catch?
G-man, I tried this pm but my camera is not so good, so used an eye In front. Much better in hand so to speak.
Description: closer 1
yeah nice! , thanks Jon.....
Here is an update from my collection of blood orders. These are all 1st type medals. Getting tough to find more but they do come along time to time. I guess it helps people knowing I collect them hard and deal straight, in that I get offers when its time to sell :]

Great stuff Jon and it's great that you were able to get the article and photo of the pillow to go with the grouping!
Thanks Erich, it was courtesy of Sepp over on the WAF, the guy who updates the thread on funeral pillows. So I was very lucky and very grateful. Now of course the crowning glory would be him wearing the medal!
B.O.s are one of the most historical and interesting 3rd reich pieces there is!
Some nice stuff here! You have an excellent collection..Good for you old buddy!
I found this subject very interesting. Can anyone let me know what the values are currently for these awards?
Mark
Well, the Blutorden ribbon is a fake for starters.
Well, here is another one, fetched 850 Euro + 23%:
I am still enjoying collecting Blutorden. Looking forwards to visiting the SOS in Feb 22, meeting some old faces and hopefully finding something for my collection. Get in touch if you want to meet or might have something for me!
Hi, Jon,
Good to see you again,
Dave
Thank you Dave. I'll be around at the SOS 22, looking forwards to catching up with old chums State side.
Here is a sweet medal, awarded to one of the 2 son's in this photo, father and both sons holders of the Blood Order.
Impressive collection, Jon!
Sadly issues with Covid, and then an operation I had to have meaning I can't fly yet and I won't be at SOS. Hope to attend in 2023 though. Hope everyone has a great show
Hope you get to feeling better.
--dj--Joe
Take care Jon, cheers and best, Ryan S
Hi old buddy.
