Anyone share an interest in these? 9mm. or 16mm. medals, badges.
16mm. Bronze PAB.

A 9mm. three award lapel pin.
The EKII is enamel.
--dj--Joe
Any others you wish to share?
--dj--Joe
I have several of these, here are a few
WOW, love the top left with the gold party badge!
Not a Gold Party Badge - it's a Luftschutz medal.
Terry, thank you. I like the six place lapel pin also. Not often do we see both the 25 and 40 year faithfull service crosses mounted together.
--dj--Joe
I just got this awhile back with some other items. Looks to be marked L/57.

Here are a few more.
Here are mine...I am kind of one dimensional when it comes to the badges I collect...he he
Wow, you gents have been busy.
Rod, nice two award lapel pin, well marked.
Denny, I recall the three awards in the case, outstanding examples.
Terry, more excellent combinations.
Fischer, that's a nice dimension to be in.
Quite an enjoyable grouping. Are any of them marked?
Thanks and regards,--dj--Joe
Hi Joe
No, none have a mm and all are solid. I did just add this nice hollow example...this is the first hollow IAB mini I have seen.
Don, congratulations, that is a finely detailed example. Very nice finish remaining. I do see frosting don't I? It must have a good base metal.
Not too many hollow minis out there that I could find.
So much variety in these small awards make them most interesting to collect.
Regards, --dj--Joe
A few more
Some very nice pieces there Gentlemen.
Alas mini awards are not an area that I collect so am unable to contribute.
Thank you for showing them.

Thank you Joe...I am very happy with that little hollow one. It does have what we refer to as a frosted finish, very appealing IMO but not very durable.
I've picked up a few N.S. era 16mm. miniature medals. Sadly separated from the lapel attachments, chains or button hole devices.
Grubenwehr ehrenzeichen.
--dj--Joe
Some are WWI, the rest WWII
Here's a rare Gau Wartheland mini that I have in my collection.
Great things fellas, keep 'em coming!
Best!
Bill
Found a few more
Fischer, a very nice well defined piece. Great close ups as well.
Is the body convex?
Great example for your very nice collection.
Thanks for showing it.
--dj--Joe
Hello Spike
Great looking collection of mini's you have. It was tough for me to decide which one I liked best...In the end the IAB mini with the mm of Herman Wernstein won out.
Thanks for showing these, the IAB is an example I would like to have!
Thanks fischer. Appreciate it
The IAB was quite a nice surprise as it was not advertised as marked. Quite like the CAB's and UBoat minis. Not everyone's cup of tea, but they certainly have something.
It has been great to see all of these. I have not picked up a thing of late. Has anyone else had better luck?
--dj--Joe
How about this?
Some really nice examples shown gents.
Thanks to all.
Anyone else? Dig deep guys. I'm off to look but I think I'm tapped out.
--dj--Joe
I picked this up last year. Heer 12 yr. 16mm.
I've been keeping my eyes open but am not finding affordable miniature awards to add to the collection.
--dj--Joe
I read some time during the Third Reich the wear of 16mm. awards was forbidden. (?) Anyone have more info. on this? Was it all 16mm awards? Medals and badges?
I understand the wear of 9mm. awards continued. (?)
--dj--Joe
thats very interesting Joe. Might be correct. Hopefully someone will know and post.
minis were always hard to collect! I didn't know it but every full size had a mini!
I have a old book on them ans the quality on some is excellent!
I recently had to buy a very large group of badges & pins to get a couple of pieces that I needed. In amongst them were a number of small pins. Here are some...
First SA sports minis, gold, silver & bronze
I hope the pictures do not disappear again
DRL minis, again gold, silver & bronze, stick pins & a couple of pin backs...
And finally some horse pins
Here is one of mine, and RK stickpin. Jim
Nice. I appreciate seeing the KC, EKI, EKII combo.
Don, I've never seen the three sizes of the SA lapel pins all together like that.
I don't see many of the fully cut out DRL lapel awards either.
--dj--Joe
Thanks Joe, I know zilch about these things, I'm just grateful that they seem to be original. A few pieces in the rest of the group are not.....
Cheers
Don

KC with Sedlatzek button.
A nice item.
Thanks for showing it.

Here is a recent pic of my 16mm IAB mini collection.
It's grown.
Congratulations. It takes a lot of dedication to hunt down 21 IAB 16mm. stick pins.
Some of these minis have some outstanding detail.
I'm keeping my eyes open for a hollow back 16mm with some wear to it.
Do you have many 9mm's?
Thanks for sharing, --dj--Joe
EKI Button hole pin. the ribbon is orange.

Thank you.
That 5th 9mm. to the right, looks really sharp. Is it the same as the 3rd example?

EKI Button hole pin. the ribbon is orange.
A nice example. I seldom see the 1939 mini ribbon attachment.
--dj--Joe
Thank you.

--dj--Joe
Cheers Joe...
Yes, the 3rd and the 5th examples are made of tombak. The 5th one is real nice; the wear to the frosted finish gives it a nice look. The 3rd has all the finish intact.
I know you are searching for a hollow example...here are my 16mm hollow examples.
Near as I can tell from the few I have seen online, the hollow backs are from the same die. If not the same maker. Only the knurl on the pins appear different. Do you know of a different hollow back design?
--dj--Joe
Hi Joe
These three are identical and all have are the same obverse design IMO. The pins do differ as you note. The one on the upper left has different, deeper knurling when compared to the other two. Another difference is the attachment method. The upper left one has a "U" shaped curve and slightly flattened at the end and soldered to the reverse. The others have a type of upside down "L" shape and directly soldered using the end of the pin.
Anything new folks? If I can't collect them I can at least enjoy looking at someone elses good fortune.
--dj--Joe
Once more.

I recently got this Coburg mini, pictured here with its big brother.
Description: cb
Looks to be a well detailed miniature.
--dj--Joe
How about someone starting off 2017 with some new pieces?
Wish I had something to show. Perhaps soon.
--dj--Joe
Will stick this for a time.

I understand it was 1943.
Anyone have something new to add?
--dj--Joe
Don, thank you. Nice combination. Do you think this example would be jeweler done as opposed to factory assembled? Was thinking that because of the pin style.
--dj--Joe
Hi Joe,
I would say these combinations were "one offs" and assembled by someone other than the original maker.
A jeweler would be a good guess.
Thats an extremely nice set up you have there. Great detail, well made.. The pins were widely available.. Yes jewelers would have done something like that.
Lapel devices, stick pin & button hole type.
--dj--Joe
- what great detail on the EKII,,,and appears to be enamel! With the high quality button all makermarked up its easy to see they were proud of this piece,, and probably all their stuff!!
I saw a table at the MAX that just had mini's.. He had one riker case full top to bottom for something like $500.. A wide variety of awards and sizes. What was the range of sizes? from smallest to largest? Seemed like there was 4 [?] sizes in-between small to large...
The case was packed with them. Probably a very good deal,,and a good instant collection for a beginner to research, catalog etc.
Gaspare, the miniatures are normally found in 9mm. small size to 16mm. larger size.
Not sure how well that was adhered to though.
There is also a prinzen size. Seen for medals and badges. They are a larger size than the miniatures.
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will comment.
