I picked up this Soldbuch while stationed in Germany at flea market in Kasierslautern...that was around 1999. I have posted it out here before around 2007 looking for any information someone may have as to it's cover...the plan is to list it in the for sale section of GDC but not until I can get more information on it...so, this is NOT a for sale post. I have collected several soldbuchs over the years and I have no doubt that this is genuine...just total stumped by the cover. A buddy of mine suggested that is may be a self-made replacement cover...maybe but the lettering is all symmetrical leading me to believe it was printed...also, I am not sure a soldier would take the time to add the perfect black-line border. So, I am asking the forum for any additional opinion or advice. thank you in advance. (hopefully I can figure out how to get the photos to load)

Well, it seems the mystery is solved. I sent several photos of this Soldbuch to Emilie Caldwell Stewart. She addressed the fact that the signature on page two of the book is a dead match for the signature on the inside cover and concurs that this is a war-time replacement cover, she sees no problem at all with it. Also, however faint...the Hohenstaufen stamp can be seen on the inside cover photo. So, I will try and get it to the for sale forum this weekend.
