John,
I "re-enacted" the event.
The war invalid guy went to Fylkesfrer Holm for a conversation and than he asked Mr. Holm to give him an autograph.
Mr Holm picked up
HIS table card and signed it for the ex-front fighter.
His signature (R Holm) is clearly readable right beside his name
I think "Fylkesfrer" is a title, and Mr Holm's given name started with "R".
Frer is very similar to fhrer...
Our Norwegian members can easily solve this question.
And after that the guy went around the room for more autographs.
This is my theory.
Anyway it is a very interesting piece! Congratulation!
Janos
OK John,
the name of mistery Mr Holm was Rolf Holm.
