Guys... I have just purchased this dagger and have an inspection period on it.
Can you see any red flags?
Thanks for your help!
Looks good to me. A clearer pic. of the maker mark would be helpful (but it may just be the computer I am on now). Hammer hear should be square and completely etched out, and the "&" should be slightly smaller then the other letters. Looks very nice! Congrats!!!
Thanks Johnny!
Here's another photo of the maker's mark. It appears to have the hammer etched out and the "&" is smaller than the rest of the letters.
Here's another one using a jewellers loop to try and magnify it a little more...
Anyone else?
Does the inscription look to be authentic?
Oh... and I forgot... what about those crossguard markings... or lack there of on the top one?
Looks good from your pictures, great find I am still looking for one they are not the easest daggers to find either..
Thanks for the better pics. Looks A-OK to me. I picked one of these up at the SOS (posted in this forum also) Same maker, same Gau mark, same name only partial etch. My fittings are internally marked P.A. though. The mark inquestion must be the company that manufactured the fittings, but I do not know which company your mark represents.
Anyway,
NICE piece!
Scott and Johnny, here's my Pack for comparison. Maker's-mark Regards, teufel
teufel... maker mark looks the same as mine but your maker mark appears to be closer to the lower crossguard... or is this just the way our photos have been taken?
Scott, Yes mine is closer. I think I remember a discussion about the location of the M/M on these Rohm's quite a while ago. I would try doing a search on this or perhaps some members can comment. Regards, teufel
Johnny's maker's mark appears to be about the same distance as mine from the crossguard. I will go back and check through past threads. Thanks teufal.
I have one here
