Hello guys I have recently purchased my second partial Rohm dagger by SMF. I remember selling my first about 10 years ago on this forum with help from Patrice for about $1700 as I recall. It was very "rough" Patrice informed me at the time that an SMF Rohm is one of the rarest and most desireable makers. Can anyone tell me if SMF Rohm have maintained their value and desirability ? Thanks and regards, Ryan

Ryan,

I'm not sure I have even seen a rarity rating for SA Rohm daggers. Maybe someone can post one. Actually, I have never seen an agree-upon list of SA Rohm dagger makers.

SMF daggers are hard to find. What sort of shape in this one in ?

Dave

Thanks for the replies. The blade, scabbard and fittings are very nice SMF must use a really brittle wood as the handle has chips as did the other example I had thanks, Ryan

Hi Ryan!
My experience is Eickhorn is the most desirable, anything else is second or third.

Hi Bob thanks appreciate your reply. I agree that Eickhorn are the most straightforward and comfortable to collect as they are pretty much standardized in so far as Rohm daggers are concerned. Collectors are "more at ease' purchasing Eickhorn Rohms then say EPS. This is due to fakes etc and the myriad of trademarks and positions. SMF blade marks are pretty straight forward for Rohms. Should you collect Rohm SA by maker then I supose the more obscure or rare may command a premium. This is as I was told years back on this very forum. cheers and best, Ryan

Here's a thread with some good photos of the SMF with a Rohm dedication.

I do not agree with that, Bob.

Eickhorn full Röhm daggers, especially the ones with the small serrated and round tail marks, are fairly easy to find.

But most of the other makers are a real challenge to acquire, even the "partial" versions are. They are also priced higher than the common Eickhorn versions.

Rarest are Kober, Sauer and Haco SA Röhm daggers in my opinion.

Best regards,

Ryan you need to be careful there is a new SMF Rohm fake that is very good.

This SMF reproduction full Röhm blade has been around for several years now, Paul.

And it is quite easy to spot by its maker mark.
