As I understand to qualify for the Rohm dagger
you had to join the SS prior to 1930.If so why do we see SSRohm daggers with numbers in the 30-70 000 range? Surely this cannot equate?
It might work out that their SS Number is within that range.
As I understand it, if you were a member of the SA or HJ before a certain date, you also qualified. The numbering system does seem crazy, but there are early SS members with high numbers. There may be an explanation and someone like Ross K. might know.
It is documented that Himmlers expansion and "Reorganization" of the "fast" growing SS, that their numbers, were between 280 members to 52,000 members, within a few short years from 1929 -1932, this would explain some of the numbers, but like Grumpy said,, the HJ was also in the mix.

Oh jeez what did I do?,, time for me to go to sleep
This was an organization that numbered in the 1.5 million range by the mid 30's..
Where did the date 1930 come from for Rohm Honor Daggers? I believe the date is Dec. 31, 1932, prior to Hitler assuming power in 1933.
