I'm not much of a medal collector but I've had this one for quite some time:
OBVERSE
I am just curious as to what it's for:
REVERSE
Medal for the 1866 war between Prussia and Austria / Bavaria . There are 3 of the same type with different lettering : Koenig graetz , Unseren treuen Kriegern und Mainarmee . All issued by Prussia and by my Great-Grandfather called the EK of 1866 , the Iron Cross of 1866 . He got the Koenig graetz one , since he took part in that battle in a Prussian Garde Pioneer unit . Hope this helps , Bernd
Jim, Lakesidetrader has the Koenig Graetz version on his site.

Russell

Let's move this interesting thread over to the Imperial forum, Wednesday, June 6th.
That should give ample advance warning.
