Here are mine, Colt 1903 with 1st variation shoulder holster and OSS fighting knife. 1903 with 2nd variation shoulder holster. Detective special with shoulder holster and hip holster All letter to OSS Another Detective Special with hip holster lettering to Counterintelligence Corp.
Had an interesting YOUTUBE bit on Roger Hall's Colt 32
I saw that and I don't think he is correct on identifying that 1903 as an OSS pistol. First, he never showed the serial number and the frame where it would be US Property marked. Second, from the grips, it is a much earlier pistol to be OSS issued. Third, that is not an OSS issued holster. There are specific serial number ranges and to identify correct pistols.
Here is a Civil War Colt Special rifled musket. Made by Colt on contract, this is one made for the New Jersey Militia and so property marked. Came as a stand of arms with this bayonet all still in the original un-molested arsenal bright finish. Notice the crisp edges on the screws and wood fitment to the bright steel.
Yes, there are a few of books (most out of print and can be expensive) on the holsters and pistols/revolvers:
-The Colt Pocket Hammerless Automatic Pistols , By John Brunner -OSS Weapons Vol l &II, By John Brunner -U.S. HANDGUNS OF WORLD WAR II (Pate) -U.S. Military Holsters and Pistol Cartridge Boxes, by Scot Meadows
I have seen bits and pieces of the OSS special weapons and gadgets over the years as well as those of the British SOE.
Has anyone ever heard of them actually being used ?
I remember reading that the SOE made some fake snakes full of explosives with a small clockwork motor that made them wiggle a bit. For use in Malaya / Burma etc because the Japanese hated snakes and would go out of their way to run over one on a road.

Here is a decent book on "gadgets" SOE & OSS used.
