Not much activity on this Forum, so here is a very early text book Prussian Contract Red 9, built in 1916 with the proper small 9 field marked grips in 85% cond. Approx. 135,000 were produced with this one being S/N 876.

Nice broom handle and holster. I always found these interesting.

Impresseive.
Were these issued to anyone in particular?

Dean: This contract represented the only C96 pistols ever issued to the German Imperial Army in WW1 (1916-1918) to offset the slow production of the standard issue Luger P08. They were chambered in 9mm and marked as such on the grips to warn against loading them with 7.63 ammo.

Nice early C96 I have one of the last ones made in mint condition probably still in the factory when the war ended.

Another fine example of a late production Red 9. Congrats.

Thanks. I have been looking for a wooden holster since I bought this piece 15 years ago and I am still coming up short. I do have the leathers for the holster that are dated 1917 but still no wood, maybe someday...

Thanks for posting, I've enjoyed seeing both of these although I know very little on these unique pistols. I had always thought I may add one to my collection someday.
