The Walther firm produced sporting firearms until they introduced their first pistol, the "Deutche Selbstlade Pistole Walther" in 1910. Soon followed by the Modelle 2, the 1910 model was renamed as the Modelle 1. A total of 9 models were produced, showing continued evolution until the introduction of the highly successful PP/PPK pistols, which were introduced in 1929.
