This was a family members.. Sad shape as it went thru the flood years ago. ..

So, this thing WWII vintage? No markings anywhere, none on blade..

I know there are no sexy SS runes on this thing.. But its a tough rugged sharp knife that took a beating more than once and can still do some slicing and dicing!

Came from a uncle that was US Army. But he went to VFWs and things got circulated to say politely!

, Anyone with a idea? WW2 vintage, Korean era, Viet Nam??

Gaspare
I have seen way worse condition, this one is not too bad.
Has the Pal style pommel that is pinned on and sized to the Mark 1, I would say WWII. But a lot of these types carried over to Korea.
Later models had white spacers added to the handle, WWII were just red and black generally.
Hope this helps a little

Looks.like a US Navy MK 1 PAL . The were issued in a grey fiber scabbard. Not uncommon to see them in a leather sheath as this tue red spacers you mention are exacting to the mark 1. Hope this helps as it's way late to reply. Finish is correct non reflective parkerized finish.
