I came across some really cool stuff last week which I would like to share with you. This is the first one. Is this a real 1918 American Trench Knife Dagger, and roughly what is it worth?

Looks good to me. The LF&C ones never made it overseas in time, but are still quite sought after. The scabbard with the prongs is the hard part to find. I have seen them in the $500-800 range depending where & when.

Finding the scabbard with the prongs still attacked is tough.

Does this one look like a good Au Lion?

Hmmmm. That one vexes me a bit, the US 1918 is much shallower than usually seen, and the Au Lion Marking is much crisper and deeper than usually seen.
The back groves on the handle are correct. Hmmm. I keep waffling. I will have to look a bit deeper on this one!

The scabbard is not right on that one though, looks like a modified bayonet scabbard.

I have serious doubts about this one. As Jerry says, the scabbard is not proper. Also, the hilt casting is very poor and not at all like an Au Lion that I own. The pommel nut is also quite different as well. Lastly, these blade logos are typically not stamped as clearly and as deeply as this one is. These have been faked for years so I would be quite leary of this example.

Thanks for the imput. I was concerned about the 1918 engraved on the grip.
I did get another one at the same time, and will try to add those pictures soon.
