Could be a job specific pouch, like a weapon toolpouch.

its missing the web piece & metal loop for belt attachment.

I was lurking and seen this post. I was wonder if it was a pederson device pouch? but after clicking on the link its notFrown
Those "in the know" call these a squad leader pouch. whats it for???? the in the know folks dont seem to know. also may have been used for the 20 round mags that some 03's had. so yeah its a pouch. the 20 round mag story tells a story better though. sorry for the late response. Bret
