Hello norg, the first point which came to my eyes is the grip with eagle which is improper for a BURGSMUELLER pupil dagger. There is the possibility that a teacher would wear his teacher-dagger in a vertical scabbard/hanger but here for me is the number O 5 (Ornienstein) against this theory, although there are some chained (teachers-)daggers with school markings around but I am not sure if these are not postwar cobbled together pieces. Also the stamping does not conform in small details with known originals.

I am sure Ron will soon give an experienced comment on this dagger.

Regards,
