Everything I see in the photos says it is a correct late production RZM SA dagger. It is in reasonable shape as well.

Whether it is worth $995, I am not sure. You should be able to find a similar example for much less

Thanks for the reply , that's Canadian dollars so about $760 USD. It's an antique shop so I could always make an offer. What would be a reasonable price to pay ?

I would guess $500-$600 US$, not more. In that condition, these should not be hard to find.

Thanks for the response. It's local which saves a lot of hassle . I will make a $550 US offer and see what they say.

Guy wont budge off his asking price so I guess he can keep it. I'd really rather have an SS dagger anyway.

You owe to the piece to call him and tell him to wipe the fingerprints off of it.

Im sure he will just buff it out with some scotchbrite or 80 grit sandpaper
