Hi Keen Collectors.
Here is a great grip of a early August Bickel with orginal lack on the dark grip & great burnishing.
This grip is made out of some type hardwood.
Fr marked crossguard.

Thanks Sam Wink
yes thay are nice.

here is the other side of the grip. Very close image , but i will host up more pics of the complete dagger when its land into my collection very soon. A dagger from my homeland Smile
The dagger is not messed with. All is pristine as found. I like it that way !

I do bealive this type of daggers is made out of the Solingen area ? is that correct ?
All Aug Bickel i have seen have hard wood type grip.
I have another Aug Bickel in my collection too. Thats a wedding engraved one.

Cool looking dark handle on that one.

Love those dark handled SAs,, I have noticed on period photos that the higher up SA guys liked the darker handled grips than the lighter ones. Just my thought on that, but yours is a beauty. Larry

a classic Bickel handle- note the sharp lines of the wood- not shown are the flat edges at the sides of the handles- Bickel was supposedly one of the 4 companies in Solingen that owned their own handle making machine, hence the almost unique nature of the shape( they may have also sold to smaller companies). Very nice-Mike

Sam,

Nakida why did you sell it? That wood grain is the best and goes well together with the early scabbard. Big Grin Larry

Larry: I have sold many fine daggers that I regret when I look back on my pictures, fortunately, I fill the gaps with new conquests, all the time Big Grin

Very nice, Bickels, guys.

Jarle, why on earth do you need two?

Let some of us poor earthlings at them. I am sure that you have a countryman living not far from you who would love to own such a great and scarce piece.
