We have not talked about the NSKK Chained for a while. These are the best bang for the $ in my opinion. VERY RARE, over looked and cheap vs the SS chained daggers. When Wittmanns book comes out....watch out.

your thoughts????

I think the only reason they are not as popular is the fact they are generally all plated cheap fittings and most collectors prefer early quility over the later daggers of anytype. IMO Nice dagger though, chain looks right from what I can see, I would certainly like owning it!!
Cheap vs SS chained maybe so but still not inexpensive.

I agree, they are overlooked and I would like to have one in my collection too.

Nice dagger VonRader.
They are quite undervalued in comparaison to any SS blades. An NSKK Officer Chained was much rarer than any SS Chained dagger, though they only sell for half the SS value.
Go figured ? Confused
Whether they are plated or not doesn't really affect their value all that much, or else, every SS "plated" chained would also sell for less...........which isn't the case.
I don't think that the story will be any different when Wittmann's book comes out next year. Why ? Simply because we all already know that such a book will be coming out and up to now, nothing has happened to the value of an NSKK Chained dagger.
About 3 years ago, a "near mint" NSKK M36 was selling for about 2500$ USD but in today's market, they usually sell for 3500$ USD. Still a nice increase of about + 40%... ain't too bad. Wink

Here's mine and whether or not they are popular, I still wouldn't trade it.
They are still a great looking piece and a must for any serious collector. Wink

No plating loss on this one. Big Grin

Wow!!! Eek That's gotta be mint?
I believe we'll see an increase in value, in part due to Wittman's book, but not to the degree of the SS pieces. There are many variations of the chained NSKK. I'm partial to early field upgraded versions that are maker marked. I also think they are a good value, but again as stated before, not inexpensive at all.
I should have stated mint Chained NSKK $3500-4 Mint SS Chained $7000-8.
'fraid I paid somewhat more for this one.....
Paul, you've paid more 'cause yours is Minty ! Wink
And yours isn't Pat????????????????!

Good luck at 'The' show
