Looks like one of the three Suhl makers. Darkened motto and the wood looks to be Walnut. Beautiful so far, lets see the rest.
I agree with John, a suhl mfg, Kober?
Fritziii
I bought this today at a local show. The blade is perfect. Awesome crossgraining with the usual slight runner marks. The Scabbard has better than 95% anodizing but all the lacquer is gone. Matching patina through out. I know what I paid for it but I was wondering what you guys would be willing to pay. Its not for sale but just curious what another collector would have paid.
Beautiful dagger Bob.
To me, that's the best looking grip I've seen so far on a SA. Very unique graining and everything fits perfectly. A lot of character with that piece, what a gem.
Congratulations,
John
I just looked over all of my daggers. All of the handles have graining that run from guard to guard. None run from side to side and curve like that. Maybe we have stumbled upon a new type of tiger striping.... Tiger Butt Stripes!!!! if you look at a tiger Butt his stripes curve from side to side over his back.....
NICE KNIFE!!!
Congrats!
Johnny
Bob,
That grip is better than a piece of chippendale furniture, stunning. It is a work of art,the best I have ever seen.Value in the UK would be £600 IMHO, perhaps more, yes probably more, you just do not see them like that over here.
Very well done,a great score,do tell us sometime later what you paid for it,I would never asked but you started it!now I'm curious.
Regards,Ivan.
