Hello to all,
I just bought this from a friend who got it from the veteran many years ago. I think it's really nice but my photos don't do it justice.
Nice!
Love those "fat" runes!!
Yes, Very nice early "Klaas" rig with "High Neck" eagle. Congrats!

"III" stamped at 90 degrees. Cool!
Love the black etch.
You sir can hold your head high. That is a sweet piece!
Beautiful! I have a Klaas with a II at 90 degrees....Paul knows which one
J. Harvey,
Very nice dagger. By the way, did you also buy the Gring glass goblet from your friend?
Best regards.
My friend sold me this dagger, a nice SA by Malsch, a super DD LW helmet and another M35 helmet: so far he has been unwilling to sell the goblet.
congrats on a great looking dagger. I hope soon one will fall into my lap from local ads.
Very nice RK SS em. My very first SS em was also a minty Klass. Bought in 1968 for what I believe to be $75.00. Wish I still had that one!
A great looking dagger,it is getting hard to find any real decent ss daggers anymore. Yes i remember those days of $75.00 ss daggers, ss chain daggers$125.00
Wish i has a time machine
thanks
Bob

It's ironic that you guys have mentioned thise low prices formerly paid for these daggers. My friend, from whom I purchased this dagger, bought it straight from the veteran for $75. The vet had called him up (people knew he collected)and said he had a dagger for sale and wanted to know what it was worth. My friend thought he had described a nice SA dagger and said it would bring between $75 and $125 (so this was a long time ago). When he got to the vets house he saw it was an SS and told the vet it was worth considerably more. The vet said they had already agreed on $75 and that was the price, period. Times, and people, have sure changed.
Nice looking Klass. I've got one also that's very clean, came from Tom Johnson along with an M36 nickle chained rig. It has a "1" Gau marking.
Whats with the fat runes? i have a dagger by
Klass and the grip runes are not as chunky as
those.
Regards
John
John,
There are many different rune styles, presumably from different suppliers. Klass are found with two if not three different types,

The short stubby runes you call fat are actually classic Klaas runes. Most have them.
Hohaus: I believe it is a KlAAs not a KlaSS.
Ron must have his spell check on.
Gailen
Gailen,
You are right. I will reciprocate.
