Looks like a nice Herder and vertical hanger. Are the blade edges sharpened? Looks that way but it might be a trick of the shadows.

The blade has not been sharpened. It’s the way the light falls. The crossgrain on the blade is completely preserved. The zapon lacquer on the scabbard is 50 % preserved.
It looks better in hands than in the photo.

That is one of the nicest M33 SS by Herder that I have seen so far!
Thank god that it was not postwar "upgraded" to a full or partial Röhm, as we see with many daggers by that maker!
