Another SS Dagger Analysis - 03/30/2022 02:06 PM
Guys,
Just looking for objective analysis of the dagger here. Fine details to note: The placement of the motto (distance from crossguard), the general type of grip, the grip eagle, the rune button (looks fake?), the tang nut, and the crossguards don't appear to be Eickhorn accent grooves.
Keep in mind, this is a RZM 1940 production dagger...but it is Eickhorn marked. Now, I have seen 3 different RZM Eickhorns with shallow accent grooves on the crossguards with this maker which doesn't seem to fit the traditional look of Eickhorn crossguards.
The grip triangle at the lower crossguard looks huge, but again I have seen several RZM's with this style but I can't explain it because it's few and far between.
Please, any observations welcome. This was sold by a "reputable" dealer some time ago so I need to know who to trust in this game.
Thanks!
