Hi guys today I was handed an Eickhorn Himmler from a well know and respected top European dealer it is an Eickhorn of course bench marked 2 cross guards internally marked H & E as one would expect my issues (1) gap and light visible between blade shoulders and lower fitting have seen better fit on 1942 Eickhorn RZM daggers (2) Solingen missing some letters in etch (seen on other fake Eickhorn daggers G O) (3) scabbard fittings have a yellow tint and dont match dagger fittings tone (4) blade tang has no billet clamp marks I dont have it yet but will eventually have pics to post any thoughts ??? cheers and thanks, Ryan

Hi Dave as I said I am awaiting the sending of pictures I am assisting a friend I have told them why I have issue with dagger as posted here. The dagger is not listed on a dealer's site and was not made available to the general public. It was/is a private deal. I have been asked for discretion so I will honor the request. My friend places a lot of stock in the seller's COA and reputation, I have never owned a Himmler, I have owned a few full Rohm SA and can identify an authentic inscription. I will post the images here when I receive. Dave should the fit and quality especially of the blade shoulders not be near perfect? Can you comment on the lack of billet clamp marks on the tang??? Thanks Ryan

Hi guys shoud the fit of the blade shoulders to the lower fitting not be perfect, especially for an Eickhorn and especially for a Himmler? Can anyone comment on the billet clamp marks missing on the tang? I seem to recall that they are not always present. I recall that I almost always see them however on SS and SA cheers and thanks Ryan

Himmler Honor daggers can exhibit minor imperfections which you mention, just like any other edged weapon produced during the 3rd Reich. No additional precision workmanship went into producing them, in lieu of the fact they were the Reichsfuhrer's personal presented daggers.

Thanks JR I appreciate your comment I don't want to condemn a dealer if not necessary nor a dagger, it has been disassembled and the tone of the scabbard fittings dont match dagger perhaps mismatched the letters in Solingen missing in the trademark are a bit disconcerting for me I will forward you pics when I receive cheers and best, Ryan

When 'respected' dealers ask potential customers not to show their recommended investment to anyone else for scrutiny, then I would get very suspicious.

Hi guys the dagger came to a "friend" the dealer has not said anything my friend intends to send me pics for opinion. The dagger was shown to me and it has the "issues" that I mention here. This does NOT mean that it is not correct. I am not an authority on Himmler inscriptions. I know daggers so that is why I asked the questions that I did on this thread. Please, lets not jump to things thanks and cheers, Ryan
